About Cronos: The New Dawn
Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland. In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death. The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.

the mechanics and slow buttonsresponses ruin this decent game.1 found this helpful
grab it on sale, good game and i think the story is pretty solid but its just dead space with resident evil inventory and crafting, your character is slow as a rock which i mean rightfully so as you have a whole spaceman suit on, enemy variety is ehh but they look cool. Their attack patterns are slow and easily dodge-able you only really get in trouble if there are multiple enemies coming at you because you have to use charge shots if you want to do any damage and not waste your ammo so you're stuck in an animation everytime you want to shoot, the gravity walking and reverse time thing is a pretty cool concept that makes this game differ from dead space and silent hill, (also made by bloober team) but otherwise its your typical third person horror/survival
This game's atmosphere hits like crack. I never felt so much tense just by walking around.
No map really makes playing this damn game a chore, I spent more time running around using the pointless little compass at the top trying to figure out my objectives backtracking than I did actually playing the game
Awesome survival horror game with a story that captivated me. Had to turn my settings down some, made my rig run a bit warm. Looking forward to replaying for other endings and to achievement hunt, as well as the new DLC. The resource management took some getting used to, and you'll kick yourself over missing shots at the beginning until you are more established. But don't give up or get discouraged. Such is our calling.
Cronos: The New Dawn Review – Great Atmosphere, A Bit Repetitive As a big fan of sci-fi and cosmic horror, I really enjoyed Cronos: The New Dawn. It is a great mix of Lovecraftian atmosphere, Chernobyl-like disasters, and post-apocalyptic settings. Here is a quick breakdown of the pros and cons (in my opinion). THE GOOD: Great Atmosphere: The graphics are beautiful and perfectly show a ruined, creepy world. Balanced Pacing: The combat is satisfying and well-paced. Instead of relying on cheap jump scares, the game uses them sparingly but effectively, forcing you to stay alert and tense while exploring. Simple Weapons: The weapon selection is simple but effective. There is enough variety to fit your playstyle without being overwhelming. Good Length & Exploration: The game doesn't feel rushed. It rewards you for exploring, reading notes, and listening to audio logs. Interesting Story: The story is woven in a way that lets you piece the puzzle together and draw your own conclusions, even though the main plot line does satisfyingly unravel by the end. THE BAD: Confusing Moments: While the story flows well for the most part, it occasionally takes sharp t…
