Cthulhu Realms is what happens when Lovecraftian insanity meets deck-building chaos. You start with a few little cultists, build up your power, and drop cards that make everyone else lose their sanity before you do. It’s fast, funny, and full of those “ohhh that combo just hit hard” moments. You’re stacking icons, chaining cards, and watching your opponents spiral into madness while you sit there like, yeah, praise be to Cthulhu. I’ve owned the physical copy for like 15 years now, and I still break it out from time to time. The Steam version is honestly just as good. It stays true to the tabletop rules, but everything runs smooth — clean UI, quick matches, and a solid AI that actually fights back once you bump up the difficulty. It’s one of those games that’s easy to learn but rewards you for thinking a few turns ahead. It’s chaotic and hilarious once you figure out how to combo right. The art is peak weird-cute horror — like Lovecraft drawn by someone who laughs while they go insane. The little details on each card make me happy — it’s gross, silly, and spooky in the best way. Based on the Cthulhu mythos, this tongue-in-cheek deck-building game challenges players to conjure sinister combos, manipulate minds, and adapt their strategy on the fly to drive opponents into madness. Cthulhu Realms is a Lovecraftian-inspired board game where up to four players compete to drive each other insane. Unlike traditional collectible card games (CCGs), where you pre-build a deck, Cthulhu Realms has you construct your deck during gameplay. This approach makes every match unpredictable and forces players to evolve their strategy turn by turn. Each turn, you’ll play cards from your hand to generate Conjuring Points, which are used to buy from a rotating selection of five Available Cards shared between all players. These cards are randomly dealt from the main deck and instantly replaced when purchased. With only five options at a time and all players shopping from the same pool, you’re constantly balancing long-term synergy with short-term opportunity.
