Darksiders III

This game really grew on me. Coming in from the previous 2, it was a rough adjustment period but the combat and story hold up very well and the level design is so spectacular that it reignited my taste for soulslikes all by itself.

Part 3 is definitely good, but the second one featuring Death remains my absolute favorite. The first two games were perfect for chilling out—after a hard day's work, you just want to relax and hack through hordes of undead. When I started Darksiders 3, I had no idea it would have soulslike mechanics. I rushed in playing it like the previous titles, immediately got my ass kicked, and couldn't wrap my head around what was happening. But once I realized the game's actual genre and adapted to a FromSoftware-style gameplay, things finally clicked. It's a great game, but definitely not one for a relaxing evening anymore.

I would say this game is a differnet experience from the previous 2 games. Unfortunately this didin't grow on me much but for fans its not bad to play thought it once.

I didnt really get attached to thje main character and I couldnt really not get tilted even in story mode when i was dying, or taking too much damage. Maybe these games are not my cup of tea anymore, idk, but i cant recommend it. I want to have navigation ( no map in game ) and I dont like soul like mechanics like losing all souls for lvl up.

Yea, I like Darksiders 1 and 2 very much. And played most Souls games, so this should be right up my alley. But it really is not, it is like they intentionally made a souls-like game and made every single much worse. The enemies are waaaay to aggresive, constantly suround you and attack from offscreen five at time, so dodging one just makes hit by three others. And then on the bigger boss enemies they had the stupid idea of making attacks hit exactly one dodge roll after animation actually finishes. All in all more an excercise in stupid frustations insead of heavy hitting souls like system. And even their bandaid fix of "classic system" only adds attack cancelations and makes the "flask" instant, but doesn't fundamentally fix the broken combat. And talking about flask, the ONLY way to recover them is by dying.... I guess giving the checkpoint demon a "rest" option would have been to obvius?
