You have to listen to an unskippable story recap every time you play the game.

I love Darksiders, I love Darksiders 2... this was another game I actually played as a kid and was immediately interested in the story. However, my tiny kid brain could not stay focused long enough to play through this game fully. Fast foward years later, I played through this game out of sheer nostalgia, and imagine my surprise to find out that the game barely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ functions on modern systems! A GAME FROM 2012! This port is the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life and after 100% the achievements. I will never touch this ♥♥♥♥ again. My favorite thing is that THQ Nordic delisted the original too, so you have to play the buggy ass Deathinitve edition! ♥♥♥♥ YOU THQ! Also, for reference, in my playthrough the games crashed on more than 30 separate occasions for one reason or another... sometimes mid game, sometimes mid boss fight, sometimes at the title screen. FIX YOUR GAMES PEOPLE!

I've recently read a review that said all Darksiders games are different genres. That's like saying every Final Fantasy is a different genre, just because they do something different each game. They've certainly changed things going from Darksiders 1 to Darksiders 2, but it's absolutely the game genre of adventure/action, but this time with some light RPG elements sprinkled on top. Nothing too serious, but enough to be something slightly different. The game starts off great, with varied dungeon designs that all feel different. Sadly, after that you reach the Land of the Dead and it's pretty much all the same thing: tombs and lairs. It takes quite a bit of wind out of the sails. After that the locations are varied again, but a good third of the game takes place in there. Afterwards you get to see some other areas again, with some more varied gameplay. Not a big fan of the Gears of Wars shooter, but at least it's not the millionth dungeon in a row. While there is a lot more to do in this game, it doesn't feel very meaningful. Enemies scale with your level, so you never feel powerful. This also removes all incentive to do any side-quests, because what's the point if you don't…
