Better than I expected. Besides its attractive aesthetic, the gameplay is easy to pick up and the levels are simple enough to clear with bronze or silver, though going for gold times and scores is a real challenge. There is a generous amount of content both in game modes and levels, with enough visual variety to keep it from feeling repetitive. I recommend it, it is affordable and definitely worth it. Day of Drift is a real gem, and runs perfectly on my Steam Deck. Its physics are unique and allow for a level of precision that is hard to come by in a top-down racing game. The track design is also a real standout. I worried that the tile-based track layout might make tracks feel too similar, but the placement of obstacles and other track objects (particularly once you get through the initial set of tracks) give corners unique geometry. Managing your NOS and finding the best line becomes an interesting puzzle without becoming frustrating or overwhelming. Once you get a hang of the handling you can crank up the tuning options, which makes the gold medals suddenly more attainable.4 found this helpful

An adorable and accessible arcade drifter. The difficulty feels good, with the tracks being easy enough to get through, but getting the gold will require some practicing.3 found this helpful
If you were looking for what would happen if you combined the focus on drift and execution of Absolute Drift but then combined it with the vibes and aesthetic of old school car games like RC Pro Am, you might end up with a game like Day of Drift. Day of Drift is laser focused on drifting mechanics, mostly through two different styles of challenges. Some stages are set up for you to have the maximum number of “drift points” before the end of the stage in a given time limit, with medals given for beating specific scores. The other mode is a time attack mode where you need to get to the finish by any means necessary, and mistakes cost you time. If the gold medal challenges aren’t tough enough, compare your scores to others online. Want to change the look and feel of your car? It’s not hidden behind microtransactions or achievements, it’s in the options menu from the start, and the only thing stopping you from a faster car is the ability to control it. It’s a fun game, but don’t expect a walk in the park, you’re going to need to earn those scores. This is a hidden gem.2 found this helpful
Fun mini car racing game, you compete with time, and boundary, try not to rush into obstacles, it will leads to your potential failure. Retro visual and bgms are very nice, remind me of the good old days playing Nintendo Fami Con. 100% recommended to car racing game lovers! -from another GM dev :)
