About Death and Progress

A girl wakes up in a strange facility with no memories of where she is or even who she is. Death traps are everywhere, some need to be deactivated, some can be avoided, and some are simply impossible to pass without dying.

But death wasn't the end. Every time she died, a strange machine brings her back to life.

It becomes clear that the only way for her to move forward through these horrible tests... is to die over and over again.

Death and Progress is a light horror game filled with puzzles and traps inspired by other Japanese horror RPG like Witch's House and Ib. Death is around every corner, but dying is not necessarily a bad thing, and sometimes it is the only way to proceed. Can you find your way through the traps?

- Find your way out through a series of puzzles and traps

- Three stages with varying environments

- Four different endings

- Unique death traps with different solutions

- Hidden solutions that opens up new ways to avoid traps

- Replay the levels for clues to escape a horrible fate

I loved the game's concept, plot, dialogues, and even the aesthetics are impressive for an RPG Maker game. The graphics and character reactions are also great, staying true to futuristic designs without going overboard with absurd elements. The gameplay is solid, and the puzzles are really well-designed and explored. While it's not exactly a survival or horror game, it still appeals to me. Although I understand it's an indie game, I did feel there could have been more music throughout. That said, it's a great game, and it was definitely worth buying. I love games that interact with the save mechanic, and this one has become one of my favorites!

Really nice little puzzle game, that tells an interesting and compelling story. The secrets aren't too obscure and things are straightforward but challenging enough to make you feel fulfilled for figuring it out. The game has multiple endings, multiple solutions to puzzles, and is generally very solid. There are a few chase type sections where you are on a timer and must avoid obstacles and they can be a little bit janky from the RPG Maker controls, but they didn't take away from my experience at all. Also, the game might be bigger than you think when you first boot it up! Give it some more time and try finding alternate solutions and perfecting the puzzles before giving up!

What a trip... I went into this game thinking it would be full of monsters and jump scares. Sure, things kill you... a lot, but it is all part of the experience. I mean, it IS in the title of the game. This is one of those games that lasted just long enough for me to want more, but didn't overstay its welcome. The puzzles are fun and engaging. The story is intriguing (if a bit confusing). And the music is perfect for the atmosphere. While this game isn't PERFECTLY polished (a lot of RPGMaker games DO NOT do well with "movement puzzles"), this game is perfect at its price point. With three different endings and quite a few secrets, I highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoyed other RPG horror games!

A fun if gory puzzle game. Sadly no mention of cats stuck in boxes or Morphogenic fields

Fun but barely any story and I would only recommend it on sale.
