About Deathchron
Sometime in the near past, a kid gets an ominous television transmission.
He has intercepted a cryptic message - and the Deathchron arrives at his house.
He is transported to an alternate future world, where robotic mechs have taken over,
and he has one chance to save the world. A.R.T. - his own automated robot transporter is
here to help, but it's much more than that. A.R.T. can be upgraded to shoot various weapons!
So, take a nostalgic trip back to 1987 when games were hard and they didn't make sense.
Deathchron is an NES style game inspired by titles such as Blaster Master.
Features:
8 bit style NES artwork
Action Platforming
Upgrades for your mech
Various areas to explore
Bosses that will eat you alive

This game is a buggy mess. The level for stage 2 is recycled from stage 1 for example. Terrible game and I don't want to bother finishing it. That's why the game is so cheap. Don't even waste your money on this garbage title. A slice of pizza is worth than this game.8 found this helpful
I've written the review in Curator in Chinese, but I'll write it more detail in here. This game isn't bad at all. I think the part about using the cooperation between the Robot and the Kid to finish the act is interesting. Also, I like the design of the Robot. But there are still a lot of bugs or problems that should be fixed, 1. If the Robot or the Kid ran out of the map, I can do nothing but restart the act. 2. I don't know what's the difference between the screw and the gear in the map? All these two items offer 1 screw. 3. Only 1 BGM in the whole game. 4. Act 3 and Act 4 are not available, even though I've finished Act 2. 5. The distance of each floating platform is far af. 6. I can not understand the story of this game. Why did the Kid got caught by...alien? Why did the kid know how to control the Robot, and what's the point? 7. The boss fight in Act 2 has an HP bug. I don't know how I triggered it. This bug needs to restart the whole game to fix. Those are the problems I found so far. I appreciate Josh giving me this game. But unfortunately, I can not recommend it until those problems are fixed.6 found this helpful
Deathchron is an uneven, buggy mess, but shows promise with classic NES style. The basic premise is solid, and it feels and looks great, but the bugs and uneven level design make it almost unplayable. It needs to spend more time exploring the kid mechanic to stay interesting. I was hoping to grab this game, beat it in a couple of hours, and give it a positive review, but it needs about a month's worth of playtesting & polish on it still. It's a shame, because the pixel art is beautiful and there are some solid ideas right up front. Some immediate issues: * Lack of checkpoints (I went about 12 screens deep underground but was sent back to the start after 1 death) * No settings menu or keybinding * Sound effects are too loud * Sound effects are often missing (no sound effect when you take damage or die, for example) * If you walk past an enemy that shoots, its sound effects will play forever even when you're 10 screens away * No coyote time (jumping off a car or crocodile is very unforgiving) Best of luck to the dev. I hope that they have the opportunity to fix this game up and/or that they succeed with future projects. There is definitely some talent behind the game that shines through even in this rough state.4 found this helpful
Video Review: https://youtu.be/LWvC9sPKFfk TL:DR Deathchron has a great premise, great level design, fun gameplay, and incredible spritework, but it is a buggy mess. If the bugs were fixed it would be an easy recommend but as it stands now the constant crashes and gamebreaking bugs make it too frustrating to play.1 found this helpful
