Deathless Death

I really loved this game and the interesting story. You play as a priest listening to the confessions of four different people, each with their own secrets, regrets, and painful memories. What I find most interesting is the emotional and moral struggle in each confession. As the priest, you have to decide whether to forgive someone or execute them. You can understand why someone makes a certain choice, but that doesn't mean what they do is right. You can also see when someone truly regrets what they have done. That makes the decision even harder. The gameplay is mostly point-and-click, with you exploring their memories, looking for clues, and solving puzzles along the way. The puzzles fit naturally into the stories and help reveal more about each character instead of feeling completely separate from the narrative. Your decisions also affect the outcome, and the game has six different endings to discover. Overall, I really enjoyed the combination of mystery, puzzles, and emotional storytelling. A beautiful game focused on the internal worlds and suffering of people. this game is jam packed with lines or imagery that evoke a lot of symbolism and metaphorical meaning. It’s straight forward enough to make sense while also being quite abstract in places so the player can see and question themselves and their ideas. Even tho the settings is a confessional , the religious aspects aren’t explored as the game opts to focus on … well if u get to the ending ul find out. It’s equally as interesting and rich but if I go into this expecting an exploration of what the process is like or how a priest would talk … beyond the surface level ur better off looking elsewhere All in all its a short, moody experience that lingers in your mind and offers a lot of food for thought. provided you can overlook a few bugs and a lack of action

A short text-based game with strange, unsettling vibes and really nice art. I would say it's worth playing for the four individual stories and the mystery of how they're connected, but I wasn't really happy with the ending. You get the impression that your choices have permanent consequences, until you reach the end and it all goes out the window. I would have preferred a version of this game in which each of the characters were people meeting Rose in alternate timelines/lifetimes, and you're tasked with saving her rather than just passing judgment on a handful of people.

I played this once before but I just reinstalled and tried to run the game it kept crashing on launch. Disappointing I wanted to give the game another try but it just crashes.

The story is better than the game.
