In Deeproot Manor you play as Emily, who upon her younger brother's disappearance decides to set out and and explore every nook and cranny of a dilapidated mansion in order to find her brother and, hopefully, escape together.

During your time trapped inside you'll find key items, solve puzzles and try to survive dangerous encounters. Always be on the edge - for nobody yet has managed to escape from this place.

A mostly single-handled love letter to independent horror games, this title aims to satisfy any true fan of the genre. Exploration will reward the player, items and puzzles will tease your brain, and in the midst of all this danger might strike from right around the next corner. Throughout all of this, the story of Emily and her brother Richard will unfold - while glimps and tidbits of dark, past stories will echo throughout the whole manor.

In order to fully enjoy the game, please be sure to play with headphones on and either in a lowly lit environment or downright darkness (brightness contrast is also set for such conditions).

Deeproot Manor is one of the most underrated RPG Maker games I've ever played. It's simple in premise. A horror game about a sister trying to find her brother in a spooky mansion. Gameplay centers around puzzle solving and occasionally fleeing from danger. You'll be doing a lot of head scratching on your first playthrough but if you persist through those moments you'll find that this is a competently designed game that rewards exploration and experimentation. Most of what you'll be doing is simply figuring out what you need to do. With that said, you aren't aimless when wandering around the mansion. As you gather items and explore more of your surroundings you'll always have a few ideas running through your head as to what you could try. A grand piano missing a key. A grandfather clock without the minute hand. A bathroom tub full of bubbling green liquid. There's clear signs as to what needs to be done, it's just a matter of figuring out how. The art style for the game is eye catching. I adore the minimalist design of using only a handful of colors to display the environment. It makes details stand out. Objects are easy to spot at a glance and I was never at a loss as to what…

It's a glitchy mess, Shame really, as I was looking forward to playing it. Glad I only paid around 2 bucks for it.

I got this because it was cheap and I got what I paid for. It has charm and character and maybe I just suck at these kind of games but I got kind of stuck and I did not want to persevere. I wasn't motivated and it seemed that I would have to use process of exhaustion to progress. Effectively creepy in a few parts but not really worth its low price.

Deeproot Manor, while not the deepest or the most clear in its story (to me), has a lovely unique artstyle and head-scratching puzzles. Although it's not the scariest, it's a fun experience with your typical multiple endings and plot twists you'd expect from an RPG Maker horror game. Would recommend it!

Easily one of the best RPG maker games I've ever played. Great characters and great writing, with lots of clever puzzles. Huge kudos to everyone who worked on this.
