One of Digs' distinctive features is its innovative in-game economy. Say goodbye to traditional gold and embrace the use of action points. Every action you take generates noise, and when the noise counter hits zero, it's time to either send the wave or heed the wise wizard's counsel and make a hasty retreat, just as wizard once said, "Run, you fools!" Your actions are a precious resource, so manage them wisely, as they become increasingly vital in later waves.
Utilize your basic towers for path creation, and enhance their capabilities with upgrade cards you discover during your journey. These cards hold the power to turn the tide in your favor, creating strategic chokepoints that thwart your foes. Customize your arsenal by building your deck with a wide array of upgrade cards, each offering unique abilities to tackle the diverse threats you'll face.
Digs throws a variety of enemies with distinct behaviors your way, ensuring you'll need to adapt and revise your strategies continually. Unlike many traditional tower defense titles that rely on fixed paths and static maps, the game introduces a dynamic battlefield where players can physically alter the terrain by digging through underground environments. This mechanic transforms the typical tower defense formula into something more experimental, blending resource gathering, dungeon-like exploration, and strategic defense planning. The result is a hybrid experience where shaping the map becomes just as important as placing towers. The game is set in a subterranean world filled with dangerous creatures and valuable minerals buried deep within the rock. Would be a nice little game but not worth it for the price. Feels unfinished and very basic with complete lack of balancing. It is one of those "spam the strongest tower" games while watching as the rest deal 0 dmg. I like the idea and love to maze, but this took the worst elements of Rogue Tower and has somehow even less content. Tedious, the UI is made for mobile, as others have mentioned you need to rearrange the towers and traps every time a portal pops up, which is multiple times per map, and overall 'tedious' is the feeling I kept getting instead of 'enjoyment'. With either a content update, proper balancing or price reduction, I would reconsider my review.1 found this helpful
I dig it!
Was given review copy of the game a while back. Made content on game as part of said agreement. Dev was even in stream. Dev retracted all the keys as too many ended up on dodgy sites. Sorry but you went through a platform that tracked coverage. You could see which keys equalled content.
