About Digs TD

Embark on an epic journey through the world of Digs, a thrilling roguelike tower defense game that has evolved through six months of intensive community testing, receiving frequent updates and enhancements. We are excited to present Digs, a game like no other in its genre.

Digs seamlessly blends dungeon exploration, mining, and tower defense into a unique gaming experience. As the commander of all enemy paths, your towers are not just for defense – they're also your key to shaping the battlefield. Procedurally generated mines await your exploration, brimming with valuable resources hidden within various blocks. To conquer the diverse challenges presented by different enemies and environments, you must strategically wield your arsenal.

One of Digs' distinctive features is its innovative in-game economy. Say goodbye to traditional gold and embrace the use of action points. Every action you take generates noise, and when the noise counter hits zero, it's time to either send the wave or heed the wise wizard's counsel and make a hasty retreat, just as wizard once said, "Run, you fools!" Your actions are a precious resource, so manage them wisely, as they become increasingly vital in later waves.

Utilize your basic towers for path creation, and enhance their capabilities with upgrade cards you discover during your journey. These cards hold the power to turn the tide in your favor, creating strategic chokepoints that thwart your foes. Customize your arsenal by building your deck with a wide array of upgrade cards, each offering unique abilities to tackle the diverse threats you'll face.

Digs throws a variety of enemies with distinct behaviors your way, ensuring you'll need to adapt and revise your strategies continually. Just when you think you've found the perfect defense, a new adversary enters the scene, keeping you on your toes. However, fear not, as you'll have an arsenal of tools at your disposal to craft innovative strategies.

With 17 diverse levels (and more to come), Digs introduces new challenges, from unfamiliar enemies to environmental hazards and disasters. Stay vigilant as you tackle these ever-evolving tests.

For players of all styles, Digs offers four different game modes for each level. Whether you're in it for casual exploration, a heightened challenge, or endless battles, Digs caters to your preferences.

Join our thriving Discord community to discuss ongoing updates, new features, and share your experiences with fellow Digs enthusiasts.

Grab your pickaxe and get ready to dig deep into the world of Digs. Your journey awaits – keep digging!

✦ AI summary

Digs TD is a tower defense game with an interesting core mechanic of terrain manipulation, but players consistently report severe balance issues, underpowered towers, and frustrating difficulty spikes that undermine the experience. The game feels unfinished with tedious mechanics, excessive RNG, and a mobile-style UI that requires constant tower rearrangement, leading most reviewers to conclude it is not worth purchasing even at a significant discount.

Even at 60% off I refunded this game, it is just awful! How did they think this was a fun tower defense game? It is painfully obvious they got friends or family to positively review this game to not let it sink into negative. Avoid!

Digs TD is a roguelike-inspired tower defense strategy game developed and published by Catchy. Unlike many traditional tower defense titles that rely on fixed paths and static maps, the game introduces a dynamic battlefield where players can physically alter the terrain by digging through underground environments. This mechanic transforms the typical tower defense formula into something more experimental, blending resource gathering, dungeon-like exploration, and strategic defense planning. The result is a hybrid experience where shaping the map becomes just as important as placing towers. The game is set in a subterranean world filled with dangerous creatures and valuable minerals buried deep within the rock. Players take control of a small mining operation tasked with defending itself against waves of enemies that emerge from the depths of the underground tunnels. Instead of protecting a traditional castle or base, the player must dig through the environment to discover resources while preparing defensive structures to hold back the invading creatures. The underground setting creates a constant tension between exploration and survival, as every excavation decision can potentiall…

Would be a nice little game but not worth it for the price. Feels unfinished and very basic with complete lack of balancing. It is one of those "spam the strongest tower" games while watching as the rest deal 0 dmg. I like the idea and love to maze, but this took the worst elements of Rogue Tower and has somehow even less content. Tedious, the UI is made for mobile, as others have mentioned you need to rearrange the towers and traps every time a portal pops up, which is multiple times per map, and overall 'tedious' is the feeling I kept getting instead of 'enjoyment'. With either a content update, proper balancing or price reduction, I would reconsider my review.

Decent concept for a game that is executed poorly. The game is RNG heavy to the point where it is outright unfair. The healing digs in cimbination with those who disable your towers will outheal your remaining towers and traps. Most towes and traps are so underpowered it is not even funny. The sphere towers are usless besides acting like walls. Upgrades are meaningless when you add 1% to 12%. The upgrades themselves are costly and underpowered. Got the game for like $5 when it was on sale... and even that was not worth it. If I did not cross the 2 hour play mark. I would refund it. TL:DR - Game is extremely unbalanced. Could be fun if some tweaks were made. Easy difficulty is not easy. Just don't bother buying it.
