Don't Look

"Don't Look" is an extremely badly made Itch escapee, a basic Unity kitbashed first person horror adventure. Walk around a spooky environment to get your jumpscares... yawn. This one is notable, however, for being significantly worse than even the asset flipped ones, with zero polish, riddled with bugs, no optimisation, and comes across as feeling entirely incomplete... like the developer has published this as a full game immediately after the first accidental successful build. Itch has one job, and it's not a hard job, but they failed again... to keep amateur stuff in their weird hugbox where everyone claps and says "Good job!!!" at every bit of amateur drivel (which nobody actually plays) and away from gamers. Unfortunately this has leaked out onto Steam platforms and now gamers have to put up with yet another bit of poorly made amateur shovelware. Despite not being in Early Access, it's obvious this is an incomplete product. Developers have an obligation to deliver complete, not partially done products to gamers, that shouldn't be controversial. Whatever the excuses may be, it does no service to gamers for incomplete products polluting Steam like this. It makes it harder…

The graphics were incredible! They really gave a ps1/ps2 vibe and were quite nostalgic!

The mechanics are boring and monotonous, and there is almost no tension.

Игра, возможно, и не предлагает сложного геймплея или замысловатой истории, но благодаря уникальной механике и удачному использованию аудиовизуальных элементов, она отлично справляется с тем, чтобы напугать и оставить после себя долгое послевкусие. Любителям коротких хорроров, ориентированных на саспенс и атмосферу, рекомендуется.

Played this game around a year ago for a YouTube series I do that explores bad steam games, and every 10 episodes I go back over some of the games that I think were the worst I've played. I chose this one in particular as one of the utterly worst games on steam because there is no objective. The game is to put it simply, a walking simulator. Despite the "tutorial" level saying there was going to be a monster, and to avoid it you simply don't look at it, there was no monster at all. It was just a huge randomly generated forest that played a few creepy noises every now and again, with an unbearable noise that played non-stop that sounded like a broken air compressor. I replayed the game to see if it had changed (and to play it longer than I did before), but honestly this felt about as much of a waste of time as the last playthrough did. If the developer isn't committed to fixing this game, I can't recommend it. Simple.

Game is a start not really anything happening. Not scary at all
