About Doors

Bacon.

Doors is an atmospheric first person logic game where you traverse a strange world in search of bacon. Designed for hardcore logic puzzle fans, everything is based on one simple concept. Use logic to determine where you will go - some doors lead to bacon, while others lead to death. You will be tested - but you will stop at nothing to achieve the ultimate reward in life: Bacon, and maybe begin to understand where you are.

This is a short indie game developed by a one-man-team. Inspired by Limbo, The Stanley Parable, and the Portal Series, Doors attempts to bring something new to the puzzle genre.

Doors is a low poly minimalist logic puzzle game where you wander around some fairly stock-asset looking environments until you come to a set of doors which are adorned with statements. You must deduce which door is the logically "true" door and pass through it to get to the next puzzle question, that's all there is to this. Unclear why this wasn't just a set of questions on a website, instead of having a lazy low poly minimalist Unity level wrapped around it, but then I guess a web page can't be a cash grab unless you dump some Unity assets on it and put it on Steam. What bugs me most about this is that it's a game with only one job, to provide logic puzzles, but the developers goofed and the logic puzzles don't actually work. Putting aside the faulty premise that bacon always gives happiness (this is not true), some of the logic puzzles are also simply wrong. One example, you're presented with one choice between two doors. The "correct" door says "Both doors lead to death", which is of course UNTRUE as that door does not lead to death, thus both doors do not lead to death. The developers had ONE JOB here and they goofed it up completely. From a technical perspective, the…

I tried this game about ten years ago, and can't remember why I stopped playing. After re-installing over a decade later, I was reminded - There is no option to invert the Y axis. This means that you're forced to use the American default, instead of Asia & EU standadrd.

Short puzzles, quite interesting. No real storyline, just logic. Liked it

Honestly enjoyed playing it and it made me think. Loved the overall atmosphere and environment and venturing through it. Unfortunately though it did feel like that once I got to the end I would never play it again.

You can see what elements of Limbo, The Stanley Parable, and Portal were adopted into Doors. I enjoyed the simplicity of it. It's not a long game. It's a bit of gambling to figure it out in the end.
