phenomenal game. nostalgic graphics, fun little mini games, and a tear-jerker of a story. short and sweet. for a little passion project done in-between jobs, this is a very enjoyable game. also amazing idea having dev book available so when little bugs happen it isn't frustrating or game breaking.

Came for the aesthetics, stayed for the slimes

this game is lovely. it's a simple premise that's well executed, and it's full of all the charm you'd hope for from a ps1 era classic, goofy bugs included. i like the gameplay quite a lot: its complex enough that i can get a little invested in planning days and budgeting funds, but straightforward and relaxed in a way that i never feel stressed out playing. it strikes just the right balance. the writing is great too: though it's a fairly short experience and the actual text in game is light dbs still manages to be encouraging and sweet (and at times frustratingly relatable). i love the way the gameplay works to the narrative's advantage. in summary its good and you should play it!

I wish it were even longer! I did everything I could in the game and had to peel myself away. I loved all the little tasks, especially the weapon smithing. I loved the charming NPCs and how the story is told through what they reveal about the world and letters to the main character. I encountered two unfortunate bugs (the worst is that I lost all my potions, for some reason upon loading once, my storage shelf with all my potions totally disappeared. The other was less of an issue but still kind of sad- I could never take fruit from the basket). I loved my experience though and will be seeking another like it asap! Though I doubt I'll find one with the same level of heart.

The game is crusty, but it's a good crust. The irl history of the development of NYC bodegas was a cool addition. Even though NPC interactions are brief, some of the storylines were lovely (I really felt like a shopkeeper wondering what happened to one of my regulars)

Pet slimes. Organize mangoes. Throw bandages at customers. What's not to love? The "healing incense" looks like cigs and it's great. The little bits of world and characters are funny. It was a little glitchy, but it's clearly made from the heart, and the dev put in a little safety-OP scroll to fix possible issues. I had to use it once, worked no problem. I am very picky on "job simulator" games and this one's mix of cozy, silly, and personal hit for me.
