Endless Dark

I figured this would be a wild ride just based on the trailers, but nothing could have prepared me for the actual secrets this game was hiding, or the emotional rollercoaster that it would take me on. The minute-to-minute gameplay is mostly just reading and picking options from menus, and yet this still managed to be one of the most stressful games I've ever tried out. A+, I wish I could rip out my memory core and experience it for the first time again.

Absolutely fantastic, genuinely shocked I haven't heard about this game before. Tense, emotional, and incredibly satiisfying. I just finished the story as one of the three characters, will most likely go back and do it as the other two as well.

Oh man do I have a lot to say about this game. I remember when I bought it about a year ago because it randomly popped up for me on steam and it looked pretty cool, and it happened to have a review score of 100% at the time. When I started playing, the first thing I noticed was that the game was a bit rough around the edges. Like, a lot of the sprites, mechanics, and interactions lean to the more simple and representative side, and to not sugarcoat things, there's nothing that impressive you'll see in terms of graphics and mechanics. I actually stopped playing at just about 1.9 hours in, and was thinking about refunding it at the time because of this. But after I had been away for a few hours, the critical thing I slowly came to realize was that I just. couldn't. stop. thinking about Endless Dark. Something about the interactions and situations presented, the choices you had to make, the struggles of the custodian, their slow and inevitable decline, the constant explorations into thought-provoking topics, it was all just so unbelievably compelling, even if I didn't initially realize it. Endless Dark, developed and published by Little Light Studios, LLC, is a psychological roguelite that approaches horror from a quiet and introspective angle rather than relying on conventional tension-building techniques. Set aboard a drifting colony ship, it places the player in the role of a lone caretaker responsible for maintaining systems and safeguarding thousands of sleeping passengers. From the outset, the game establishes a sense of isolation and responsibility, framing its entire experience around endurance, repetition, and the gradual erosion of stability. The narrative is not delivered in a traditional, linear fashion. Instead, it emerges through events, decisions, and fragments of information encountered across multiple playthroughs. This game is awesome, very stressful, but very fun. The old graphics and some of that high stress running around, actually reminded me of like older SS13, which I loved, the new graphics look great but I hope they add an option to revert to the old tileset. Either way I definitely recommend it, you'll find yourself getting lost in some of the runs and then realize afterwards just how long you were playing for.

i love the writing in this game, its good and i love the mechanics of the game, feels like youre struggling to keep afloat which i think suits this game quite well!
