Touhou Gyakumyouran ~ Ephemeral Unnatural Balance (東方逆妙乱 ~ Ephemeral Unnatural Balance) is a Touhou Project fan game.
♎ STORY ♎
A peaceful spring in the land of Gensokyo descends into chaos. The balance of power has been suddenly reversed! The strong are now weak, and the weak are now strong. It's another incident, and incidents like this are usually resolved in a snap. This time, Gensokyo's usual heroines find themselves weaker than a common fairy. Since the likes of Reimu and Marisa are in no condition to solve an incident, three atypical protagonists step in to save Gensokyo.
♎ GAMEPLAY ♎
Each character has their own unique firing pattern. Pick the one you enjoy the most and dodge your way through the six-stage main game. After you've successfully cleared the main scenario, use your honed skills to challenge the unlockable Extra stage. The main game has four difficulties to choose from, and the Extra stage has two, so you can tip Gensokyo's scales back into balance regardless of your skill level.
♎ DISCORD MODE ♎
Sometimes the best way to fix something is to shatter it completely. That's why you can harness the power of the incident (and the Balance Gauge) to activate Discord Mode. Using this new mode will temporarily increase both risk and reward. Patterns will become more intense, but if you manage to survive the barrage you will be rewarded with additional lives (and a much higher score).
Players who want a higher challenge can enjoy Dissonant Mode, where Discord is permanently enabled. While playing in Dissonant Mode, the Balance gauge is used to power Flash Bombs instead. A Flash Bomb will clear bullets in a radius around you. If a regular enemy is caught in the radius of one, that enemy will be marked. Marked enemies will drop additional items, including extra life and bomb pieces if the enemy is sufficiently powerful.

A really fun touhou fangame! I really enjoy the premise of the weakest characters all becoming the strongest, had a good chuckle when I saw the final boss. Music is also pretty damn good too.1 found this helpful
Top-notch Touhou fan shmup. Presentation is great fun, with strong art directions, a great soundtrack, and gameplay that heavily leans towards a "take at you own pace" style. Writing is pretty light-hearted and comedic, but it makes the story great fun for a fan to experience.
This is above and beyond what most fan games do. It is challenging and mixes bullet types together in really interesting ways and reverses the positions of canon bosses and minibosses for a new look instead of trying to force their cringe OCs in. It's great. There's real passion in this project that I wish was present in more works that just fill everything with sparkle and shine and loads of boring text that doesn't carry any weight. This one has actual meat in it. Fewer words but well said.
Love love Kasen in this! The story is pretty well done in comparison to typical Touhou games. It's coherent and gives fun characterizations to the less popular side characters. I believe every bosses here do not originally have dialogues! Sidenote, the extra boss is not who I thought it would be given the usurpation theming. The patterns are really good. They fit each character's design and personality. Daiyousei and Lily's fights especially are incredible in illustrating master/servant battles (something I wish would have been incorporated in Keiki/Mayumi fight). The discord risk/reward mode is excellent as well, rewarding you when you do well and giving you autobomb for safety when you don't. On top of all these, there are three unique characters/shot types to pick from. It's great (Rip my man Rinnosuke though😔iykyk). Music is fire. They are going straight into my playlist. Overall, this one gets a high recommendation from me!
