✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's relaxing, pressure-free design with satisfying genetics and mutation mechanics, plus hidden secrets and a clean interface free of distractions. However, common complaints include a slow, tedious start with unclear controls and menu navigation issues, performance lag as gameplay progresses, and limited content depth that leaves players wanting more features like farm expansion, customization, and machinery. The game works well as a short 3-5 hour experience but feels unpolished in places and lacks sufficient tutorials to help new players understand its systems.

I enjoyed it very much. The game basically stripped of all unnecessery distractions (also if you poke around a bit, there are some small secrets hidden around the scene). There's no FOMO, no timer or clock, you finish the day when you are ready and there's no external pressure to hurry up. As a person who loooves numbers and randomness of mutations throughout generations of living organisms, but also gets overwhelmed by multilayered mechanics in big farming simulators, the game is incredibly satisfiying. If there would be a same game about animal genetics, I'd buy it in heartbeat, but for now carrots will do too :) The trophy is easier to get than I expected, since it isn't locked behind high research level or huge price. So in itself it didn't feel like much of a challenge. Maybe it would feel more like a big achievement if it would have higher requirements to obtain (like creating a t least one 100% rating plant, for example). That's a solid game. Would be cool to see some of the genetics to change the way plants look overall - like bigger or smaller fruit or flowers, taller stem, different shade of petals or peel, that kind of things, but even as is the gameplay loop is enjoable…

It's a pretty nice game with a nice mutation system. I think with some tweaking it could be easily worth monetizing. As it is now, it's perfectly alright as a free game with around 3-5 hours play time depending on if you want to achievement hunt or unlock all upgrades and whatnot. But I can see some spots where it could be improved with just a few changes. Firstly I think it would help to have an onscreen tutorial, which sounds absurd since it's such a simple game, but it took me until day 20 to realize there was even a pause menu and a bit of guess work on the first day to figure out which button to be able to interact with. So just something with a quick pop up saying "WASD to move, E to interact, Q to open Inventory, and Esc to open pause menu for further information." would be completely serviceable and friendly to new players. Alternatively, more onscreen UI wouldn't hurt. Like having a bag icon next to the letter Q would be more intuitive on what the Q is supposed to open, next to a pause icon with ESC to show that a pause screen even exists and how to open it. Along with that, an "E" popup when next to interactable objects, similar to how it was done with the bed would…

I don't think this game is for me, unfortunately. The start is very slow, and while other reviews say it gets more indepth with upgrades but I couldn't get past the beginning days. It might have been less tedious if I didn't have to press the interaction button multiple times to get the menus to show up. I wish there was a little more to do immediately, even as simple as customization.

Fun two hours to pass the time, ended up creating a near perfect pure tomato line, tried to do the same with nuts n lettuce n even onions but none of them were having it, perchance i am just one with the mato. In all seriousness tho I would pay for a more complete game, expandable farms, maybe some machinery, and multiplayer would be fun. I also feel like plants should slowly decay if left in pots indoors for too long, maybe even a preservation method forcing you to spend money if you wish to keep a prize plant potted. Overall fun game to fit into a couple hours ^^
