Players praise this Far Cry entry as a standout title with an engaging story that maintains momentum throughout, excellent gameplay, and a compelling setting that serves as a great entry point to the franchise. However, the game suffers from significant technical issues with frequent crashes occurring during both tutorials and regular gameplay, which substantially detracts from the experience for many players.
A game deserving of its status among the mount rushmore of AAA titles. Its aged fairly well and sold a story that ubisofts been trying to recreate with its sequels. The second island does introduce some pacing issues within an open-world framing but the story never lets up, going full throttle from start to finish without any dips in narrative. Overall setting is fine for what it is, nothing really special. Wish they leaned into the mayan temples more.1 found this helpful

Peak Far Cry. Might not be the longest campaign, and it did not take me long to collect all the achievements, but it will always be quality over quantity. This is also one of the best games to get into the Far Cry franchise. The story, gameplay, and overall environment of the game is absolutely perfect. My one complaint, ♥♥♥♥ the relics. Still, if anyone is thinking about getting into Far Cry, try this out.
