About Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon

✦ AI summary

Blast through a neon-soaked 1980s vision of the future as a cyborg commando fighting mutants, cyborgs, and literal blood dragons in this over-the-top action shooter. It's a gloriously absurd homage to VHS-era sci-fi excess, complete with Michael Biehn voicing your badass protagonist in a standalone adventure that doesn't require Far Cry 3.

Far Cry® 3: Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter.
Welcome to an 80’s vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world.

Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals) collide.

Playing Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon does not require a copy of Far Cry® 3.

For some reason, people thought this game was "old-school" when it came out, when in fact it is a Borderlands tier comedy with basic shooting ripped straight from Far Cry 3. Did I mention it's not funny?

Potential: 6/10 Fun: 7/10 Mechanics: 7/10 Lore: 5/10 Immersion: 7/10 Overall = 7/10 It's a refreshing take on an, otherwise standard game for the era, Far Cry 3 benefitted from the oppressing jungle and standard setting but clearly had the potential to go for something unique, the devs understood that assingment and here we are. Gunplay has been condensed into the "essential" weaponry with some added flavour, aesthetic-wise the game looks beautiful and the neon lights do make it more modern, vehicles and general NPCs give a sort of Half Life vibe to it, dunno how to explain. My issue with this game is that's basically a revamped Far Cry 2, go from place A to B, do some basic task and end of the mission. There are NOTORIOUS highlights, dgmw, but they're not enough, most of the time the map feels empty with very selective choices regarding what to do, besides funny dialog and some epic destruct-toys to blow sheet up, this game-made DLC has nothing significantly better to offer against his big brother. It's an excellent buy for a discount, but besides a cool concept and flashy looks, it's shallow and lacks direction, which also ruins the potential for a sequel or protegé
