Great Indie Gem with Real Potential Fawe is a really solid indie pixel game that surprised me in a positive way. It offers 4 different classes, so everyone can find something that fits their playstyle. That’s a big plus, especially for a smaller indie project. I really enjoy the graphics — the pixel art is clean and the animations feel smooth and satisfying. The game itself is simple in a good way: easy to get into, not overwhelming, but still engaging. In its current stage, it’s definitely worth the price. Right now there are only NA and SA servers available, so I’m waiting for an EU server to fully enjoy the game with better ping. Once that happens and I spend more time in the game, I’ll come back and update this review. Overall, great foundation and I’m excited to see how Fawe develops.

"Early Access" seems to be a one size fits all excuse, this game is no different when using this term. Movement via WASD or point and click is, for use of a better word, clunky, its janky, its heavy and awkward. While the player is only allowed to to move in the 4 primary directions, the enemy AI makes use of 8. There is some kind of input lag witchcraft going on, this is made glaringly obvious when skills fail to trigger, as the enemy has already moved, before the game realises you've pressed fire. While on skills failing to activate, nothing highlights this more than the heal skill.... sometimes it works, and other times you can cast it 17 times, and all 17 times it will fail to trigger, its like the cursor, and where the game thinks your character is, is in different places, the best walkaround I found was moving one square in any direction before healing, that had the best success of healing. I did not party with anyone, so cannot comment on whether it would work, being the healer in a party. Dopamine hits are non existent, gear upgrades come from buying from in game shops, but there is very few upgrades at all. As you progress in game to a different area there are some…

Indie title with a lot of potential. I know you've heard that before. Check the frequency of the updates. 7! meaningful updates just in march. The player base is low but I don't think they want people flooding the servers just yet anyway. [strike] I have high hopes for this one. [/strike] ---------------------------------------------------- Edit after 270+ hours: The drop / upgrade system is punishing and unrewarding. Sadly I can't recommend the game in its current state. If you can get a drop with 0,2% chance it's likely to break at 70% or 80% success chance. Gems are totally unbalanced. It's a crit meta. Using other gems, even colorful with lower chance of success, is pointless. Will update again if things improve.

The most recent update was very impressive. Seeing a project like this get such a large and well put together update makes me very optimistic for it's future. I highly recommend checking it out. I have a lot more playing to do to write a comprehensive review but my initial impressions are very good.
