About Fields of Asphodel
Descend to the Underworld and live among myths as the deity of spring!
Fields of Asphodel is a 1.3 million-word interactive novel by JJ Laurier. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Forced into an arranged marriage with the God of the Dead, only you can decide what to make of your new life. Befriend misfit deities, repel giant attacks, find the culprit behind the river goddess's mysterious illness, and use your powers to nudge Fate in your favor! Decide what kind of deity you want to be—whether you'll answer prayers, how you'll develop your powers, and what role you'll take in governance.
Can you bring light to the darkest of realms?

By the time I realised what I have gotten myself into it was too late for a refund so I thought yolo and finished it (with multiple tea and mental breakdown breaks because honeslty what the h is this). So. If by any means you are a big fan of tons of scenery descriptions and badly written autistic Hades asking consent for holding your hand then be my guest and buy this game.15 found this helpful
И сразу тематика …4 found this helpful
Slice of Life game about Persephone in the Underworld. "Slice of life" is both a point in favor and agaist this game. On one hand, you have a lot of options to customise character and story and a lot of positiv and in-dept interaction with a large cast of characters. On the other hand you have basically no conflict in the story (only during the midpoint and at the end) and the only conflict is caused because Zeus (and Chronos) is beeing an a_shole or if you play yor character as an entiteled brat (You wount, because you have to be an absolute Jerka_s to a understanding, polite and helpfull cast). All in all, despite the clearly well researched greek myths it really sanitseises the Myth of Hades and Persephone into a story were only Zeus is to blame (an easy target). If it had been closer to the original myth (or Hades being a bit less polite and understanding) it could have lived up to the text on the steam page. Still, i love the game and you will too if you take it as greek-myth slice of life with potential for more in the sequel.2 found this helpful
Eight hours only to be friendzoned by Hades.... RIP this game needs a better save function but otherwise I enjoy the story a lot.
So damn good that I'm immediately left wanting more and ready to hand over my money for the sequel. No really I need to see the full romance with Hades cos lemme tell you that this is a slow burn that beats even K dramas.
I'll always treasure Fields of Asphodel. 💖 It's just perfect the way it is, relaxing, cozy, fluffy, a balm for the soul. Thoroughly a comfort game.
