About Fireflies
You wake up on your bed, You hear your phone ring but you let it go to voicemail. It’s your sister - she seems worried and reminds you of an appointment you have with somebody, before she rushes on with her busy day. You walk out of your room and just like that, you are no more in your house. You explore the strange place a bit and find yourself standing by a view that takes your breath away. You see a lush forest, lit up by thousands of fireflies.
Suddenly, All you want to do is get there. Your journey to the Fireflies forest begins.
Fireflies is a First Person Psychological Adventure. The core mechanics revolves around exploration, survival from the enemy and a bit of puzzle solving elements added to it.
You open drawers, doors, inspect objects, unravel the mysteries of the unknown, meet interesting characters, get chased by an even more interesting character, fight, run and hide. Your aim is to get to the fireflies forest and you shall.

Gameplay :
- Narrative driven gameplay. Game contains three levels, each with its own style and everything tied to the overall story.
- Based on an interactive world around you. Open doors, drawers, cupboards. Inspect objects to unravel the mysteries of the world.
- An intense combat system where the player faces an over-powered enemy. Player has a weapon made available, using which the enemy can be slowed down. Eventually, the
player needs to run/hide from the enemy rather than facing him head on. - An immersive beautiful environment with a lot of details that add to the overall game experience.

Fireflies Positives: + Some sort of mystery + The house is well made + Its free + Its short + Looked promising in the beginning... Total Score: 3/10 Ps If you also struggled to make sense of the combination of pattern in the room to the left in the second level, the answer is this: middle, left, right, middle, right (shoot the patterns on the floor in this order) And in the first level, the hidden room is in the kitchen behind a wall which look disorted.1 found this helpful
Fireflies is a first person adventure game slapped together with the Unreal engine. The quality is very much asset flip tier. The developer was unable to fit the game properly to PC, so there's no support for resolutions much over decades old 1080p. As a result, everything looks blurry and fuzzy. The game is put together pretty badly, one of the first things you see once you escape your bedroom is the lovely sight of fireflies while birds fly backwards overhead. I'm not 100% sure but I think knowing which direction birds fly in (forwards, not backwards) should be a pre-requisite for game design, although it's often taken for granted when it shouldn't be. It's generally unintuitive. While some things are done reasonably okay here, the developer had a few ideas for a game that seem to have been thrown in a blender, the technical delivery is a let down, and not even Unreal Engine could save it. It's great that this is free, but the quality of implementation here is too low for me to recommend, even for free. Hopefully the developer will go on to do bigger and better things.1 found this helpful

Not that great. It had some promise, but the fact you gotta figure out puzzles while the "devil" is on your butt is annoying.
