About First Days of Atlantis
In First Days of Atlantis you build beautiful cities in a heartbeat. Simply choose a building from your pool and place it where you see fit. Whenever you build something, you get to collect gold from all your buildings. Some buildings go together better than others and earn more gold for you. Unlock new cards by acquiring enough gold. Amass as much gold as you can to beat your highscore or build the cozy small village of you dreams. It's your choice!
Build Quickly
Turn your village into a sprawling metropolis within minutes. No waiting around for hours to collect enough resources and construct houses. Just place a building from your pool and watch it appear on the map.
... or Slowly
If you like to take it slow instead, the game is there for you, too. There's no time pressure for you to do anything. Play at your own pace. Take a break. Relax.
Plan Ahead
How much gold you earn from each building depends on all the buildings that surround it. You can use this to your advantage to quickly multiply your income.

first days of atlantis is yet another islanders-like, so a simplified and more puzzly city builder, on hex-based maps in this case, and only one per run, no island-hopping, making it less ephemeral. also less polished and more buggy, so just about recommendable. there's normal and long game, the difference being... no idea. no in-game explanation, they play the same way, didn't notice anything. maybe it's the world size, but that doesn't necessary mean a longer game. the brief optional tutorial teaches the absolute basics, has an annoying typewriter effect too, luckily without any sound. buildings and other placeables come in the form of cards. tooltips reveal what they do, which is mostly generating gold, collect enough to unlock more structures. there's a buggy auto-sort setting to group the same cards together, has to be turned on again after every game. mouseover on tiles also provides info, but it's only whether it's fertile or not for more agricultural benefits, terrain types don't matter at all, sand, stone, dirt or whatever are just cosmetic. …10 found this helpful
First Days of Atlantis is a fun and relaxing hex-based city-builder that's somewhat similar to Hexia, Dorformatik, Zen World, Terra Nil and Take Town to name a few. In this game, you're given a handful of cards to place on the hex map. The cards can be actual buildings like houses or villas, but they can also contain platforms which will allow you to build on shallow waters, or farm plots (can also be plantation/sheep). Due to its synergistic component, the game has a strategic element in it, forcing you to maximize the amount of money you earn by placing each building as optimally as you can. Every time you reached a "income milestone", you'll then be able to choose one new card pack out of three. The game also offers quests on the side - literally, they are on the left side of the screen - that when completed, will unlock new card packs and hence, new cards a.k.a. buildings, allowing you …8 found this helpful

English + Deutsch You have to think a bit about where to place which cards in order to get as many points as possible and also how to manage to reach the current goal so that you get a new pack of cards. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well so that you end up with just a few points but either way, this game is a lot of fun and a nice pastime that you can play several times because it is very varied and always different than what you played before.
It's a good game for in between, hunting archives is fun even if there's one I'm still missing. The graphics are kept simple but randomized, the game worlds seem to be generated randomly aswell. The hardest thing about the game is that there is no going back. It therefore makes sense to write down a few arrangements on a piece of paper beforehand. The quests are a good side mission, but the reward for completing them feels too weak in some cases. I would like to see buildings that are a little more complex and that the bonuses are listed better and more consistently. However, the game still has a few areas for improvement: The coins gain sound is very anoying and breakes the relaxation. It doesn't keep the mouse in the game, so it often happens that you tab on your 2/3 monitor from the game. The downward movement is too aggressive, sometimes I just want to select one card and the camera whizzes down already.1 found this helpful
It's definitely a step back from traditional city builders, but in this case that's kind of a good thing. It's challenging enough to pique one's interest trying to unlock the higher tier buildings, but relaxing enough that it's a good time sink if you just need something to do while you relax. All in all, not a bad little game, especially if you catch it on sale.
