What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the creative anomaly-hunting concept with variety through platforming sections and appreciate it as a follow-up to the developer's previous work, but many criticize the lack of clear feedback on correct solutions, inconsistent rules, and heavy reliance on trial-and-error gameplay that creates constant second-guessing. The game's premise is interesting but execution issues with unclear mechanics and unclear win conditions frustrate players who feel lost about whether they're doing things right.
It's like being trapped in a never-ending Monday. You wander around a glitchy office. Has potential but I can't recommended at the moment. 4/10 would rather be in a meeting. I think my main issue with this game is that there is no feedback given for doing something right or wrong, other than seeing the next floor, potentially making the rules misleading, making you second guess yourself, and ultimately feeling like the game is full of trial and error. It also creates a lot of space for applying your own logic, but that can also be a double-edged sword, sometimes I feel like I figured out the rules of the room, only to somehow get them wrong again, putting me into a constant cycle of second guessing the rules which should be consistent, or at least explained with some consistency. It's also unclear if you are getting punished for taking extra photos, or if the room with no anomalies requires you to not take any, and yet, sometimes I feel like it allows me to take any amount, sometimes I feel it's not the case, and to be clear, I actually have no idea, because the game is not intuitive like that. Then there are also rooms that act more like individual events, once again, making the rules inconsistent, do I compare the rooms only to the first one, or the last one I saw as well, do I take pictures in this room, but not that room? How does any of this make…14 found this helpful
A new Spoocle release that Spoocled my Exit 8 itch so good, I Boogled all over the floor. Its also his birthday today! FLOOR X is an anomaly hunting game, where you photograph them on each floor, and if missed its back to the start. Day 1 starts off with 9 floors, day 2 has 20, and finally day 3 with 30. Day 1 and 2 introduce their own unique anomalies. Day 3 has the whole anomaly pool at its disposal. Sometimes the rules will bend, and the goal turns into something different than taking pictures, like surviving platforming sections. All that kept it interesting and fun, throwing platforming into the mix is definitely something unique to this game. When creating a game based on repetitive gameplay, then variety is key. It succeeds well at what it does. I felt like the game was generally too easy, you could always only encounter one anomaly type on each floor. Lets say theres dirt on the walls, then thats all you will find on said floor, there wont be dirty walls and spinning chairs at the same time. Playing around with randomized combinations would have elevated this further. Thank you SpoocleMacBoogle, for providing me with a copy, much appreciated! Investigative game where you take pictures of funny/horrific anomalies in an endless office building. Simple, but interesting. buy if it looks good to you!2 found this helpful
6/10 I thought I would give this a try since I love this dev's pervious works. Currently I've played the first level and part of the second, with a total of 3, and for a anomaly game this is very straight forward. The title screen has a anomaly counter, with a total of 40 anomalies, and will keep track as you play. You must make it to Floor 0 to win. You are given a camera and must take photos of ALL anomalies before re-entering the elevator. It seems that you unlock anomalies as you beat each level. (After completing level 1 I've seen 11 of 40.) I was a little confused at first because even when you find a anomaly you need to keep searching for similar anomalies in different areas of the office. There is no indicator when you find them all and some floors you can take up to four photos to clear it. The first level has no jump scares or even a creepy atmosphere, just a simple office with a couple basic anomalies. The music is all right, but feels a little out of place. Maybe some office or city ambient sounds might help. The textures of the level are very matte and bland. This level you start at floor 10 and win at 0. The second level starts at floor 20 and win at zero. This one …
