I wanted to play EU2 again. I bought EU2 on GOG but frankly that version runs ass without resolution changing support. For the Glory seems better. Otherwise, why play EU2 when there are EU3, EU4, EU5? Because simplicity has a charm. The depth is real, not lots of added complexity for the sake of it.

I've played quite a bit of the original Europa Universalis 2 but haven't touched For the Glory that much. It's better, I'll tell you that. From what I understand it's a collection of mods and a fan patch for the original EU2 that Paradox thought was neat so they offered to sell it and the modding team behind it gets part of the profit. This was made with modern PCs in mind. The original game didn't take too kindly to high resolution monitors and at times had some strange issues with the AI. For the Glory fixes the weird AI the game used to have and makes it more playable on newer hardware. That and it's just more fun in general. It looks much better, is easier to navigate menus, and you get "10,000 historically accurate events and rulers" which is insanely cool. Mod support is far better than base game too. If you wanna play EU2 then please just buy this version instead of the original. You won't regret it.
