The story is told across four chapters. Like a Netflix series, Fort Solis can be binged in one intense session, or played chapter by chapter like an episodic TV show.

The dialogue is good, but that's about it. The game, if you can call it that, is a walking simulator and even that is done badly with the horrible controls and camera placement. The main character moves like a heavy truck on ice spinning out of control. The quick time events are way to important and impact the outcome of the story. The time window that you as a player get to actual press the buttons is really short in some scenarios. This game is not worth even on a huge sale, save yourself the hassle of dealing with the bad controls and spend your money on something else.

Not really a walking simulator, it's a trudging, plodding, slogging, tramping, trekking, lumbering, skulking, limping, meandering, scuffing simulator. A threadbare story held together with duck tape and a weak payoff. Beat the game, but there's no way I'm going back into this to hoover up the collectibles I missed. The artists and voice actors were doing some heavy lifting here. Get on sale only, if you must

Do not be deceived by the screenshots as this 'game' is just a lot of walking and an embarrassing slow speedwalk function with collectibles all over the place for achievements if you're in to that sort of thing. The story is also not that interesting in my opinions. Easy game that you can knock out in a few hours even with collecting everything. Has some annoying qte's strewn about, NOTE: For any achievement hunters or game perfectors, they are super easy to complete however, I recommend that you look up discussions and guides due to some bugs. This will save you the agony of having to do multiple replays.

Cons: - Poor optimization. Even at Full HD resolution, I had to enable an upscaler; otherwise, achieving a stable 60 FPS on a 7800 XT was impossible without lowering the settings to medium. There are also frequent and severe stutters. - The game itself is very short — it can be completed in around 4 hours. This is the shortest walking simulator I have ever played. - The QTEs are extremely fast, making it almost impossible to press the required button in time. - The walking speed is frustratingly slow. After all, this is a game, and I don’t think overly realistic movement is appropriate. At the very least, there should be an option to walk faster without having to press the Shift key every time. - There are no proper puzzles, which are usually an important part of this genre. Technically, they are present, but there are very few of them and they are extremely simple. - The map is inconvenient to use. Pros: - Great visuals - Good story
Fort Solis
Fort Solis is a thriller walking simulator with a lot of Quick Time Events. Honestly, it felt more like a Unreal Engine 5 demo more than it felt like an actual game. I mean, I felt as if TellTale games had a little more action and puzzles than this game did. But I don't want to rag on it too much! The voice acting is pretty fun because you have some A listers here, like Roger Clark and Troy Baker. But, the story never really gets to finish out. You never really find out the reason for the incidents and the motive that truly plagues the antagonist. I would give this game a solid 6/10, because the atmosphere, and the graphics were great, but the stuttering that came up every once in a while was annoying and the character felt heavy to control. Also, the QTEs were weird when it came to reaction. Sometimes, they reacted well, and sometimes it felt like they would fail you for pressing the correct button. Overall, I would like to see the devs revisit this and give us a proper conclusion.

Even from the outset the mixed feelings show. Although the premise, aesthetic/sci-fi vibe, world building is remarkably good the other stuff is a mixed bag. Atmosphere builds well, but your character handles like driving a tank (in a bad way). Beautiful environment, but you can't see crap on the map. Banter between characters is great, but Jack is a bit..."off" on pronunciations and voice direction isn't always consistent for Jack/Jessica. QTEs are *really* awkward for some reason and even easy ones were a struggle; detection is a bit jank and it's really noticeably poor in chapter 4. Mouse smoothing / assist is extremely aggressive by default, buuut you can tweak it to be much better in settings. Cute romp for a short ride, high production value game, but gameplay is iffy and story starts off strong but finishes like a limp noodle. Definitely recommended on a discount. It definitely scratches that immersive sci-fi vibe well, even if it's flawed at the same time. Devs need a better writer and a science consultant cause...boy chapter 4 was such a mess. A lot of one-off remarks that aren't elaborated on enough to be meaningful and plot threads just unraveled right as every…
