This game impresses players with its striking visuals, charming art direction, creative character design, and memorable soundtrack that create a genuinely unique and captivating atmosphere worth experiencing. However, it's consistently held back by awkward controls, particularly a frustrating jump mechanic that requires charging rather than simple input, unclear puzzle solutions with obtuse point-of-no-return moments, and overall janky gameplay that makes actually playing it exhausting despite its visual and audio appeal. Players appreciate the artistic vision but struggle with whether the ext

I'm saying yes because I don't want to punish someone who is clearly extremely creative and interesting, but between you and me, no, I cannot recommend this game at all... which is a real shame because I want to. This game is so interesting and cool, the music is crazy and wild, the art direction is obviously why you are here and you're right to be drawn to it... Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, the dev decided to make a platformer with a terrible jump. This is, by far, the worst jump in recent memory for me from any game from any level of developer. Firstly, the jump button doesn't make you jump. Immediate sin. You need to hold it down to charge the jump, then jump. If it was like shallow (but useful!) jump with a press, bigger and only sometimes necessary jump from holding the button down, sure. I could see that. But this just does NOTHING unless you hold it down, and secondly, you really have to hold it down. I'll probably exaggerate if I try to specifically say how many seconds you have to hold the button, but I can say this for sure: it's longer than any game I'm familiar with, longer than feels necessary. I can't tell you how many times I pressed, held and released t…2 found this helpful
This game is incredibly fun to look at but the lack of polish in gameplay and the way the soundtrack sounds makes it super exhausting to play.2 found this helpful
This game speaks to me on a spiritual level. What else is there to say? If you feel the vibes, just go and get it! Gameplay wise it's a light puzzle game with some metroidvania elements. You'll mostly explore, talk to the denizens of the space station and collect collectibles. But really, mostly you're just vibing to the music and visuals, marvelling at all the strange and delightful stuff around you. I wouldn't have it any other way, too few games dare to just be delightfully weird!1 found this helpful
A funky game where you do funky things to funky music. It's funky. The controls might make things a little difficult, though... Yeah, a popular criticism/turn-off with this game seems to be the clunky movement, and I can't disagree. HOWEVER. If you're willing to stomach it; maybe even get used to it? I think this is a FANTASTIC game with a lot of charm. The music is definitely the highlight for me, with some visuals and animations syncing up to it and giving the sense that it's all diagetic. It's also D Y N A M I C and will swap in new layers depending on your progress! It's cool!!!!!! I WILL give the fair warnings, though:

I'm currently on my third playthrough to try and 100% the game? I've gotten used to the controls at this point. I think it's fun to speed around and go NYOOOOM!!! ... That is DEFINITELY not how it starts out. The controls were a genuine turn-off for me during my first run. But I trudged through it. Up to you whether that's worth the effort for you.
This game is vague as ♥♥♥♥. I was able to figure out most things eventually just by, y'know, walking around, but there's a sp…
Take Mila's mindscape from the first Psychonauts game, add some psychedelia and System Shock (1), and you have Fragrance Point! More or less. The gameplay's Metroidesque puzzle exploration. Could use improvement in game design (see other reviews), but if you're just in the mood to groove and explore and mess around and talk to odd critters, it's well worth the purchase. At least two endings! Sorta short, but definitely sweet and unique (I LOVE the weird biomechanical aesthetic). I dare you to not bop to the music - the game itself certainly does!
