About Ghost of a Tale
Play as Tilo, a resourceful mouse minstrel navigating a medieval animal kingdom through stealth, exploration, and cunning conversations to rescue your beloved. This immersive adventure emphasizes exploration and character interaction over combat, letting you outwit enemies twice your size through nimbleness and disguise rather than brute force.
You’ll be able to explore the secrets of Dwindling Heights Keep and navigate its dangers. Tilo is not much of a fighter, so stealth and nimbleness are your allies when confronted with enemies twice your size. Talk to the characters you meet and leave no stone unturned in your quest to find Merra, your true love….
About the team:
Ghost of a Tale has been developed by a very small team. Lionel "Seith" Gallat is its creator, responsible for 90% of the art, design and coding. Paul Gardner is the game's writer and an experienced game designer. Cyrille Paulhiac does coding and develops tools. The game's orchestral score is composed by Mathieu Alvado and Jeremiah Pena, while Tilo's songs are written and arranged by Containher. Sound design is by Nicolas Titeux. Jerome Jacinto brings his expertise as an illustrator to the game's 2D art.

ive played this game for the 6th time and its so good! even though i alr know the plot and sh1t, it still melts my heart. like.. i love tilo sm. im waiting for sequel sooo bad actually..
Graphics: Graphically, the game is absolutely beautiful on my OLED monitor. I strongly appreciate the realistic looking animals over cartoony alternatives, too. It is one of the nicest looking games that I've played. Because there are lots of dark spaces, I recommend playing in a darker room (no direct sunlight) - helping you retain maximum visibility. Also, the framerates are excellent on 1440P (2K). I just set a max of 120 FPS, and the PC breezes through that. Specs are below. Even with a high-powered PC, you need to increase the graphical quality in the settings menu. It won't just max out by default. ----------------------------------------------- The Stealth: I like this form of stealth in a game. You sneak around, and you get an indicator telling you how close you are to being detected by an enemy. If you are detected, they will try to kill you, but you can still try to scurry away. You don't just automatically lose, die, or have the game reset from a previous save. In the beginning, when you're less familiar with the world your in, the running away to find a hiding spot feels so much like how I imagined a real mouse would feel being chased by a predator. Your darting here …
I really adore Ghost of a Tale, its world, its art style and its characters. The first time I started the game, I couldn't stop playing and easily put in six hours at a time. However, the game becomes less rewarding the further you progress. The world becomes larger and larger, and your quests largely consist of finding a needle in a haystack. It's a really good game, but if you don't love exploring every single corner of its lovely little world, you won't enjoy it for long.
I just finished and... I have so many (beautiful) emotions right now. I feel this game is genuinely a tiny, little gem. The amount of love and care it was made with shows in every tiny angle you explore, in the writing of the characters, in the artworks - so well made and so full of life, as well as the music and poetry that accompany the player in Tilo's journey to find what was once lost. Love, and in a certain way, himself. There's so much attention to the worldbuilding that it pains me thinking the chance of this little masterpiece ever getting a sequel are thin. But at the same time, I'm so glad I got to experience it and I can't help but asking everyone to give it a chance. If you like story driven games, you won't regret it.
I get a little confused on where to go when starting a new quest, but once the flow starts, it's really hard to stop. There's an in-game hint system that costs the coins you find in the game to help find the next waypoint, but I am nervous to use it as the coins are finite. I honestly don't mind being a little lost on where to go because the character you are playing is physically lost in this fortress. It just makes sense. A little bit of rails to prevent early exploration in unneeded area would help. Path uncertainty aside, it is a beautiful game 8 years after its release. The music is wonderful, the character art well done. The world that is unraveled as you explore and unlock the LORE is intriguing. I would love to come back to this world in the future. I haven't finished the game yet, but I am enjoying the hours I have put in so far, and it is something I look forward to coming back to during the day.
