Gladiator Trainer

I'm going to forget about this "game" now thank you.

A bright and fun game for gladiator fans simple controls hilarious and exciting training sessions colorful graphics and a lively atmosphere perfect for those wanting to feel like a true gladiator.

Released a month after https://store.steampowered.com/app/527710/Crown_Champion_Legends_of_the_Arena/ which I'd finished recently, I was expecting a continuation of sorts... though it seems to be a retelling and utterly inferior to its predecessor both in style and execution, as the game continues to crash on me. I cannot recommend this game in the slightest. If it sounds intriguing to you, check out the other version linked above and give this a skip.

It's a nice game, overall, but the second one is better. You could navigate with your character everywhere, instead of just going from panel to panel, plus you could buy the freedom of your gladiators and pay them to keep fighting, for example. In this game, once a gladiator gets like 70 or so wins, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ leave, period. Not to mention the slave shop, where you are free to choose between like six individuals, in the sequel, instead of getting forced to buy one (from only two) then sell them in order to make the game generate another random one after two weeks (if you don't want any the game will keep bringing them up until you do something about it). The story of the sequel was more fleshed out and had more branching paths, as well. The story of the first entry has it's neat moments, though. Btw, don't bother with any class but two: Tower and Bear. They can take on anyone. Also don't bother with the beast matches in the desert arena. 9/10 times you just CANNOT win - and that means death. (plus, later on, you get more "secure" options to make money, anyway).

It's a pretty straightfoward and simple gladiator management game that I would summarise as "ok" given it's very cheap price point. What you get for that price is why I'd recommend it if you're into that type of game. You'll spend time training your gladiators then watching them fight in whatever touranment you've been invited to, rinse and repeat while earning gear to build up your estate and buy from the limited pool of gear. Eventually you unlock the ability to train fighters in any class skills, though this comes fairly late in the game and I didn't find necessary. There's a bit of fun to be had there, but it does get repetitive as its the same loop over and over. The 100% only takes 8 hours though so it's not too bad.
