About Gladiator Trainer

In the ruthless world of the Crownlands, which is ruled by the One True Queen, it has never been easy for someone of low class to rise above their place in the caste system society.

Even now, with the realm recovering from a great war and the alliances between the great eight dominions more fragile than ever, there is little that a commoner can do to make his mark on this chaotic world.

Except, perhaps, through the prestige of the arena.

This will be your route to power and glory. Use your wits, your wealth, and your warriors to build a team of gladiators that will allow you to rise in status from the lowest drinking dens to the queen's royal arena.

You are given a run down estate that you must restore in order to properly train your fighters.
Along the way you will encounter travelers that will offer to improve your fighters stats. Some may even try to convince you to rally against the queen. Will you protect and unravel the conspiracy against her or will you join the rebellion to take the Crownlands away from the Queen?

Along your journey, you will need dancers and weapons trainers to build your fighters into an experience fighting army. Armories are available to customize your gladiators weapons and armor. Prized maidens will be looking for a proper suitor to marry and will offer large amounts of money through dowries to help fund your empire.

Be careful who your allies are and be wary of anyone you do not know.

Can you become prestigious enough to be the Champion of the Crownlands?

Can you build a gladiator empire that stands the test of time?

Released a month after https://store.steampowered.com/app/527710/Crown_Champion_Legends_of_the_Arena/ which I'd finished recently, I was expecting a continuation of sorts... though it seems to be a retelling and utterly inferior to its predecessor both in style and execution, as the game continues to crash on me. I cannot recommend this game in the slightest. If it sounds intriguing to you, check out the other version linked above and give this a skip.

It's a pretty straightfoward and simple gladiator management game that I would summarise as "ok" given it's very cheap price point. What you get for that price is why I'd recommend it if you're into that type of game. You'll spend time training your gladiators then watching them fight in whatever touranment you've been invited to, rinse and repeat while earning gear to build up your estate and buy from the limited pool of gear. Eventually you unlock the ability to train fighters in any class skills, though this comes fairly late in the game and I didn't find necessary. There's a bit of fun to be had there, but it does get repetitive as its the same loop over and over. The 100% only takes 8 hours though so it's not too bad.

Gladiator Trainer, developed by Pilgrim Adventures and published by Senpai Industrial Studios, is an RPG Maker-based title that tries to expand beyond the usual formula by blending turn-based combat with light management and progression systems. Instead of placing the player directly in the role of a lone hero, it shifts the focus toward overseeing a group of fighters, building an operation from the ground up, and navigating a harsh world where survival and advancement are tied to success in the arena. It’s an idea that gives the game a distinct identity, even if its execution doesn’t fully capitalize on that potential. The setting revolves around a politically unstable realm where gladiatorial combat serves as both entertainment and a means of gaining influence. Players inherit a modest estate and must gradually develop it while recruiting and training fighters to compete in increasingly difficult battles. The narrative unfolds through events and encounters that hint at larger conflicts within the world, offering moments of intrigue and occasional decision-making that can shape how certain situations play out. While the story introduces interesting concepts, it often remains seco…

Personal Score: 5/10 - Fun but, needs work. This game has a pretty harsh entry curve but, once you figure it out, it's pretty easy to handle. (Just buy the most expensive weapon you can. You didn't hear it from me.) What this game absolutely needs, is a visual upgrade. I think if the developers swapped to a more anime style, the game would be much more appealing. Aside from those two things, I think the gameplay is just above middleground. It's still fun but, nothing super immersive or engaging. You rebuild your mansion, go out on weekly fights. Fights are automated. A story happens as you win more fights. It's not bad. If you got time to kill, I'd say check out this game.
