Video: https://youtu.be/A0xz6lzLlkM As an old dude who played Space Taxi and Choplifter as a kid, I've quite enjoyed the Early Access so far. It's quick to get into, fun, nice music, and good level design. The trailer is what you've got, and there's not much else to really say I guess. You fly around, pick up passengers, and drop them off at different platforms. Occasionally you'll have a few kind of sub-quests I guess you could say. Kill zombies, kill passengers, things like that. It adds a little more to the game and keeps things varied. There are also hidden hearts in levels which give you more lives, and the available levels thus far are varied enough to give you a nice sense of seeing something different as you progress. In short, it's a fun time.3 found this helpful
If you missed Space Taxi 2, like me, then this game is for you. It will not convey that retro-futuristic feeling, but the gameplay is the same. I would name the following features of the game: 1) high-quality 3D graphics being perceived from a single angle; 2) unique passengers with various bonuses; 3) levels also have their own design features that affect the difficulty. The game is good, but so far short. The developers promise a continuation.3 found this helpful
This is a beautifully done tribute to one of my favourite old-school games of all time, Space Taxi. The controls are fluid, the sounds and music are great, and the atmosphere is immersive (surprisingly so, for what looks like a simple game - the sound effects and soundtrack really draw you in). Bop from one platform to another in unique, themed levels as you dodge environmental hazards, slow-opening doorways and heavy traffic to deliver your passengers to their destinations. Each new location has novel features like fast-moving trains, criminal passengers, rotating platforms or warp gates to challenge you. Having reached the end, I have maybe three constructive criticisms of what is an excellently-put together little game: [list] [*]It's not obvious enough, nor shown quickly enough, whether or not your landing gear is down. It's shown with your jets angling down and your doors opening, but these things move automatically as part of regular maneuvers, to the point where if you're desperately slamming yourself onto a pad (and the game allows you to) it's not immediately clear in that moment whether or not you'll land safely or sustain damage. Even a simple “gear down” indication on…2 found this helpful
A tricky little game. The changing gravity and air currents will test you. Don't pick up armed passengers and always keep an eye on your fuel!1 found this helpful
I remember Space Taxi for the Commodore 64 and its sequels on the Amiga. They made some nice remakes online FYI that were nice. This was one of my old childhood faves!! I am sooooo happy they remade this game for steam! Looking forward to more!
