About Great Ambition of the SLIMES
"Make slimes take over humans to fight your battles!"
Here's another tactical simulation game you never knew you needed.
You have slimes under your command.
Yup, the weakest of all monsters, slimes.
No, they aren't any stronger in this game.

But what if they have the ability to occupy human bodies?
Take control of strong knights and warlocks to fight your human enemies!
There are also demons to take care of, so things can get complicated.
Demons can't be taken over, but if you use the humans around you…

You'll find several kinds of slimes, humans and demons in this game.
There are over 20 types of slimes to command, each with their own unique abilities. Teleportation, multiplication, there's even a slime that can melt equipment off your enemies!

Which body will you occupy? How will you fight?
The possibilities are endless.
Humans will try to save their friends whenever a slime tries to occupy them. That could be used as a part of your strategy too.
Using items to transform your slimes into different types will help you in the more challenging battles later in the game.
Lend your wisdom to the slimes and help them take over the world!

✦ AI summary
Great Ambition of the Slimes features an innovative possession-based SRPG system with accessible mechanics, charming pixel art, and relaxing music that works well early on. However, players report significant issues including unbalanced class design that forces specific unit choices, steep difficulty spikes in the late game that feel unfair, and reliance on RNG that can feel punishing, making the overall value proposition questionable despite the game's unique core concept.
So, I've finally completed the game. There is so many bad points than good points in this game later on. So it's hard to decide it's worth the price anymore. It's fine for me, but anyone could seriously turn off if not warned. Good point: - Exceptional SRPG system. The possession system is rarely seen in SRPG game nowaday. - Easy to learn. You will learn 90% of the game from the very first chapter. - Fine graphic. The map is so-so, and the pixel art is easy to recognize one from another. - Relax music. - One point that actually better comparing to first game: Slime type is compacted, trading quantity for the ability to upgrade. Bad point: - Tactics focus on acquiring certain classes (range and strong ATK), while the rest are less desirable. DEF stats is so useless. - Unforgiving difficult later on. The first time trio of mid-class demons appearance will wreck every single of your units. - Unnecessary grinding. Why does every slime have to start at level 1? - No replayability. After the ending, there is no new challenge, no additional enemy, no special slime as a reward. You basically can uninstall the game now. (I wished there is a slime that could claim demons and witches after …60 found this helpful
Review after fully completing this game, and comparing it to the first one: The Good - - More customisation. You are able to use items on your slimes to diversify them as you wish. - Less difficult. Some slimes are still heavily favoured and you'll probably end up using them in 80% of the maps, but at least you don't need to play absolutely perfectly to clear the map (unlike some Challenge Level 5's in the previous one). - Less 'Grind'. Stage Rewards are now only 1 drop at 100%, instead of 3 different drops at various %. Slimes start at level 1, but because every slime has a 'barrier' when absorbing enemies, you do not need to grind easier levels so they can at least survive 1 shot. The Bad - - No more challenge levels. You can't jump around and try out various levels anymore, instead it is a completely linear path. - Cannot see unit portraits except during combat. Personally, I prefer the sprite artwork of the first one more. - Plot is pretty much the same as before, except even more barebones. You're not playing this game for the story. There are other UI and gameplay elements that can be improved, but this is still a unique take on a SRPG that I haven't been able to find an…6 found this helpful
Way too simplistic to be fun long term. I got about 2 hours of "fun" out of it. There is some challenge at the tactical level, but it feels very random when you're basically forced to try and possess a group of guys quickly and then pray to RNG that it they don't randomly choose to focus fire and kill one of them during that same turn.3 found this helpful
Great Ambition of the SLIMES is one of the most unique games I have ever played the game-play is fun you absorb enemy's then you claim the humans, it includes new and returning enemy's from Ambition of the SLIME'S. (another great game by the way) The graphics are pixel art which I like and the slime's look amazing. The music is mostly new music which they are good and some music is from Slime Tactics. But there is one problem after halfway through the game the difficulty spikes up like crazy and you have to be a strategy god to complete every single level in normal mode. Other than that Great Ambition of the SLIMES is a really good game. Rating 8/10 Update: I have finally got all achievements in this game, took around 100 hours to get it done, but seriously use split slime and metal slime in the second half of this game because this 2 slime's will carry you for the harder levels. If anyone else has gotten 100% all the achievements in this game then congrats to all of you's as well. The game is still fun to play even with the difficulty spikes.1 found this helpful
Interesting and different spin on tactics games. I've enjoyed it. It will probably be too hard for you if you aren't familiar with the genre. Plus, it's slimes that absorb people. Slimes are great.1 found this helpful
