Grimoire : Heralds of the Winged Exemplar (V2)

An impressive amount of labor invested in making a very long classic Might & Magic style blobber. Any amount of which could have been invested in the UI, but wasn't. For example, you HAVE to look at the Golden Era Games logo for like a minute on boot every time. Can't skip that. For example, you can't tab out of this game. Also trying to do that broke my ability to open google chrome. I had to change my display settings to get it to start opening again and not just sit on the taskbar inaccessible. For example, tooltips are a sometimes food, and navigating any menu feels like operating a submarine in the 90s. All of this is kinda fine. This is an inaccessible genre, and it's not unreasonable for an especially indie game to be the final boss of that kind of inaccessibility. But I don't know if this thing had playtesters, or if any of them were ever listened to. Making a party is clunky, and you start the game with a custom party by going to 'library' for some reason. You need to max roll your bonus points for each character, and you probably want to invest those in HP. If you didn't do that, remake your party. Also you can't invest bonus points for the metalworker. I'm not sure …

This is the second most obtuse computer game in history, behind Battlecruiser 3000ad. It's the first time I've been strongly tempted to remove a game from my account without refunding it. I just don't want to see it in my library. What I'm saying is, it's the rpg equivalent of slamming your fingers in a car door over and over. There might be a fun game after you crush your fingers into hamburger but you won't be in the mood to play it, because your fingers are gone.

Once thought to be the rambling of a madman, this game finally came out, and I was not prepared. Revisiting it after a couple of year, it's great. If you grew up in the 90's with computer rpg games it is a very nostalgic example of the period and here I am playing this instead of crimson desert. If you arent prepared to play a throwback game avoid, but it's a very good classic blobber Recommend having a grok window up as you play to make the experience smoother. (yes I am serious)

This game rule set is simply one of the most ugly and obtuse i have ever seen in an rpg.

Amazing dungeon crawler! Has a bit of a learning curve compare to other similar games, but if you can get through it game is a lot of fun. Game has a ton of depth and a huge amount of content too. Fantastic music and graphics will surprise you.
