Story:
Kumashiro Megumi (Gumi), recently transferred from St. Aile's International School, has been training hard together with Rena and Maki - now fully recovered from their injuries. With the help of her mentor, Tohka, she’s shaping up to be a fine sniper.
Just as one new student settles in, another has her sights set on joining the girls in Class A, Mihama’s elite combat unit. Her name? Sengoku Taiga. Haruto, the team’s handler, has one condition for Taiga’s transfer: that Chris serves as her supervising officer.
The two seem an unlikely pair at first, but after spending some time with little Taiga, Chris soon finds a way to see things from her perspective.
It’s at that moment that the nation is suddenly rocked by a terror attack on an unprecedented scale. Chris rushes to the scene, aware of what’s at stake, but paying no heed to the dangers ahead.
Just as she did, once before.

Grisaia Phantom Trigger Vol.4 continues the episodic structure of the Phantom Trigger series, mixing slice-of-life character moments with grounded action drama. This installment leans into the idea that Mihama’s students are being shaped into tools for dangerous work, and it uses that tension to keep the story moving even during quieter scenes. The pacing is designed around escalation. Early segments focus on relationships, routines, and the kind of light banter fans expect, but there is an underlying heaviness that never fully disappears. When the plot turns toward operations and conflict, the contrast makes the shift feel sharper and more unsettling, reinforcing the sense that “normal life” is fragile for this cast. Character focus remains the main draw. Vol.4 spends time highlighting how different members of the team think and react under pressure, and it frames competence as something earned through pain rather than pure talent. Even when the story is not explicitly about a single character, you still get small moments that deepen personalities and group dynamics. A competent and fun VN, really showing off the strengths of the series with its character writing, and still suffering the flaws of the Phantom Trigger series in wanting to be ero yet settling for tame ecchi. It was also interesting rewatching the anime and seeing what was and wasn't cut/added. Kurjiarase and Taiga's dynamic is very sweet, espeically with how it'll reverberate across the series.
When I saw it had 21 chapters, I thought it would be a longer volume, but it still felt the same But yeah, I believe this volume is where the real story actually begins So maybe people can start from this volume, but I still dont consider this a worthy sequel to the Grisaia series 6/10
FrontWing scammed backers of its KickStarter/IndieGogo projects of their money, can no longer recommend the series.
Decent story, cute girls, no sex, ecchi
Chris is probably my least favorite from the cast but overall it was a nice episode. I do think that the 'nuke' plot thread was far too out there and hard to take seriously though. Also I feel that there is simply too many characters at this point and its quickly getting out of hand with screen time and such but I'll see how it ends up before being too negative on this side. Excited for Murasaki's episode next as she is my favorite of the cast.
