About Gunforged
Gunforged is a goofy fantasy roguelite shooter where you create broken builds every run. Forge your guns with randomized gun parts, collect passive abilities, and embed gun-changing runes into your guns to create the ultimate build. Enter the arena, lay waste to hordes of enemies, eradicate bosses, and extract with gold.
Forge your guns
Forge your guns from randomized gun parts. Get the right damage, fire rate, and range for your build. Add runes to your guns to completely change their behavior. Make enemies explode into gold on hit. Add ricochet to bullets. Spawn pillars on enemy death.Collect passive abilities
Choose from dozens of passive abilities after each wave. Call down lightning storms, spawn "Blood Brothers", use your stamina as health, and more! Create the perfect build by choosing the right passives for your guns, or by forging the right guns for your passives!Create wild builds & fight challenging enemies
Become overpowered. Shoot bananas. Forge a cow-gun. Get private security. Become a glass cannon. Become the opposite of a glass cannon (obsidian paperweight?)Slay waves of challenging enemies. Encounter and destroy 6 unique bosses. Fight through each of the 3 arenas to encounter more difficult and unique enemies.Lock in your progression
Use the gold extracted from each run to purchase permanent upgrades. Gain the Loot Goblin as a companion. Increase your max health. Unlock the rocket gun. Increase your Prize Wheel spins. Enhance weapon customizability. And more! What Steam players say

Meta progression is too expensive. Too random gun parts. Just not fun game1 found this helpful
bullet hell
Gunforged grew on me after the initial start. The gun-modifying aspect is fun and unique, and when you finally reach the point of feeling powerful, it's nice. However, it takes a long time to reach that point. The gold costs for the permanent upgrades are excessive at the beginning of the game, and by the time you're attempting Madness levels there's no use for gold at all. The later Cave levels spawn so many bullets that they become hidden under your own bullets, status effect flashes on enemies, and AOEs, which makes taking damage sometime feel 'unfair' more than 'I could've dodged that.' I do like the art and music, and the gameplay is polished, but definitely try the demo first.
Performance is terrible, constant screen lag even in the tutorial area. Probably do to something like v-sync or incorrect resolution, but there's no video options ingame.
+Plays well, feels polished +Roguelite-meta-progression +Decent audio +Player choice is there, but... -...it is too far in-between -Combat gets pretty messy = hard to see what damages you -Feels like a chore to play; building weapons is mostly annoying = Neutral to positive, but since I wouldn't recommend such game for myself, I won't do it to you either.
found this game when learning about gamedev topics in one of firebelleys youtube videos. i am very much into roguelites which lots of build variety. this is where this game hits the spot. theres basically endless build possibilites for your guns. i am a couple hrs in and i havent even found half the possible gun parts. the game ran very well on my potato laptop which was nice. it didnt even turn the fans on. the music fits very well and sfx and vfx are juicy. enemy attacks are telegraphed clearly and feel fair. after finding a small bug and contacting the dev he immediately offered i can send him log files so he can apply a hotfix. this shows the dev genuinely cares about feedback and about improving the game which is very valuable in todays botched gaming industry! cant wait for more games firebelley puts out!
