About GutterPunk
GutterPunk is a first-person fast-paced action game, where you wall-run through a brutalist concrete hell to fuel a rebellion in a dystopian society. You play as Char is a young, energetic woman, born and raised in The Upper City but came down to the Lower City as she doesn’t work in the factories, names it slavery, and organizes secret underground raves instead during the day. But to set all of this up you will need to parkour over without letting them catch you during curfew. Each wall-run will give you energy that you can use to perform jumps, dashes, slides and killing blows in quick succession. Killing the enemy robots is not necessary but gives you a speed boost which can provide the extra edge if chained correctly. Slowing time can give you a easier time but it won't slow down the actual timer. Try to reach to the end as fast as possible to ensure the rebellions victory and yours on the leaderboard. This game was made by 6 students as a group project assignment for their third year in the bachelor Digital Arts & Entertainment at Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen in Belgium. The music was composed by Louis Delisle, student at the Royal Conservatoire of Ghent.

oh my god i had like 12 heart attacks just now. right, dont get me wrong, there are some aspects i did like about the game. especially the style, i love brutalism, which is exactly why i decided to download this game in the first place. the message is nice aswell, though there isn't really much story telling at all. this would be perfectly fine if they just wanted to focus on the gameplay, i get it, and i would've been fine with that too, but its a really basic and honestly quite janky platformer. and, dear god, the LAG. though i will say the final level was quite fun. anywho, i beat the game, then noticed that my laptop was like, REALLY hot, and then the entire laptop just.. shut down?? it was a big problem for the laptop apparently, but luckily i managed to fix the problem without shedding too many tears. just. like. one or two. maybe its not completely the games fault, you know, europe is going through a bloody HEATWAVE right now, but ive never had this problem even with the most high end of my games before. tbh if you want a game with a similar-ish story to tell and graphics (though abit slower in gameplay) thats also quick to play and free, just download they came from a …1 found this helpful
idk i fw movement games - top 2 player
This game is a blast! The overall experience of running around and parkouring while trying to manage your energy by wallrunning and shooting enemies gives it such a nice depth for something so simple. The game feels very fast, rewarding and most of the time not that frustrating to play. Some obstacles or interactions are a bit inconsistent or irritating at times, but it's a vey nice game overall. Can't get enough if it! Then you have the scoreboard, and I do have to say this was one of the large parts that got me hooked to this for so long! The urge to beat the others or get on the leaderboards is a very fun chase of dopamine. The usage if sector times is also a good way to keep the player engaged and motivated, even if they don't rise in the ranks. The maps are a ton of fun. They're nicely scaled on difficulty and are not only plasing to see, but also somehow give me the feeling I have so many paths to choose from, even though it's a linear map design. Also, the amount of diversity between the maps is very enjoyable. If there's any things I can critique it's the time slowing mechanic: I never found myself using it ever again after trying it out. It's a fun concept, but pers…
