About In The Shadows
Embark on a short yet captivating journey in "In The Shadows." In this game, players are tasked with manipulating abstract objects, harnessing the power of light and shadow, to cast silhouettes that form familiar shapes and objects.
The game was crafted as part of a school project in a month and a half with no prior experience in Unreal Engine 5. Every element was created by me, utilizing free assets, and the voice lines were graciously provided by my sister (thanks, sis). Should you encounter any bugs or crashes, please don't hesitate to report them in the discussion section. If you enjoyed this brief adventure, you can support me by purchasing the short soundtrack as a DLC.
Navigate through the game's world using the WASD keys for movement. The mouse allows you to look around and examine your surroundings. When engaging with puzzles, the mouse movement is crucial for rotating them. For additional interaction, right-click and drag the mouse to move puzzles along the last axis of rotation. Interaction with puzzles is made simple by holding 'E'. A hint will be displayed to help you figure out what shape to look for. Press 'Esc' to access the in-game menu. Within this menu, you'll find options to rebind movement keys according to your preferences and adjust various graphic settings to enhance or optimize your visual experience.

What i will say about this game is that it is very short yet interesting in its own way. It is a unique style that we don't see very often which is why i am sad to see it finish so suddenly. i feel that the story could have been extended and that not so much mystery was involved and we actually got to a conclusion. I hope that the dev will maybe do another game or do an extended update on this game because this could be a very interesting game to play. I loved the environment that this game was set in and the graphics in this game was very good and clean. which again makes me say that this game needs to be longer so that the player can enjoy the game and the story leading up to the "end" of the game. I liked the puzzles and the obscure hints that they give you just for a little bit of help but i was kinda confused because i didn't know what i was doing these puzzles for? was it to defeat the anomaly or weaken it or to comfort it? idk just putting it out there? this game is worth the go, someone may discover something that i haven't making this whole review pointless or to support it. But i really do think that we need more!3 found this helpful
Good looking free little puzzle game about perspective. However performance is quite poor and solving the puzzles is extremly finicky.2 found this helpful
Very good game, entertaining, but short.
If you like or love rain, this is perfect, I love it. Atmosphere is amazing. Three things for my wish list: 1. Make the game much much larger. (I like to explore maps like this.) 2. Add an option for sound, music etc. 3. An option to explore it as an abandoned city. Less lights in houses etc. As a full game, with a much larger play area, this would be perfect for me, Puzzles are just at the right difficulty for all ages and it's completely relaxing, no fighting, no survival, no horror etc. This demo is great and could be absolutely fantastic if expanded upon.
