Isle of Flesh

This is an atmospheric walking sim which is meant to be an homage to Lovecraft. You can complete it in 10-15 minutes; there are 3 main locations and most of the time you just walk around looking for a door / entrance that allows you to proceed further. Graphics are somewhat simplistic but this is an indie game, after all. I left the game in the main menu for 5-10 minutes and it froze (the desk with the computer shrank). Gameplay is fine but there is no running or jumping option. Nothing tells you the "E" button is used for picking up objects or interacting with doors - if you are not new to the first person genre, this you immediately find out. Given the unique aesthetics, though, I did not notice the flashlight during my first walkthrough (the short video on the store page made me go back and look for it). The options menu does not show you any controls - instead, you just have the usual options for the sound / music. It's an OK little game. With some optimisation and perhaps some additional graphics options (some more filters perhaps or changing the strength of the existing one) it can be even better.

Just stayed frozen for me the whole time. Oh well.

Nice quick gameplay for a Tuesday night, took about 15-20 minutes to complete. Could very possibly be worth a fiver to the dev with a bit more gameplay after seeing the door from Insidious. Zero lag or stutter is a big plus for a free to play game.

If it had a run button I would have finished it in 3 minutes. The game ran fine and I was able to finish it, just not a particularly interesting experience. Absolutely do stuff like this to learn game development-no problem-but not sure what the point of putting this on Steam was. It's not a "slow-burning" story, it's basically no story at all. You are inexplicably loose on a boat after being captured, you run around an empty ship corridor for a minute and find an unguarded small boat that you take. You then end up on some island, enter a cave, find some skulls, and then a jump scare happens. You end in some room with no further explanation and then it ends.

Its a good game, graphics are cool! I understand why it's free, It took me less than 10 minutes to beat the whole game...
