About ШХД: ЛЕТО / IT'S SUMMER
You just woke up after a midday nap in your country house surrounded by the swishing sound of turntable. You are 8 years old. It's Summer is an indie video game which genres are “sandbox”, “babushka”, and “midday nap”. The game has neither goal nor sense. There are only you, cheap tea bags with russian tears and the endless yellow field.
The game itself is integral part of the Digital-opera "ШХД: ЛЕТО". This project also contains a book, LP record, series of digital-art collaborations and something more. ШХД: ЛЕТО is the second and final part of the project ШХД: ЗИМА (It's Winter).

Bringing back to life the old ‘what is a game?’ debate, 'It’s Summer' is minimal in an extreme way: you wake up in the top bunk of a bunk bed in a small house (almost a cabin) in a broad field of what seems to be rape plants. No one else is there. A record player is stuck, turning, swishing hypnotically. You can hear the breeze outside. You can hear a fly buzzing about. You explore the house – a grate for a fire with bundles of wood before it, tea pots, clothes, toys, a television, locked windows. You go outside and hear birds singing (but never see them). You explore the field but reach only an impassable, invisible wall. As the game’s blurb says, ‘The game has neither goal nor sense.’ What is disappointing is how little there is to interact with. I tried in vain to turn the TV on, even with the controller lying nearby. I couldn’t open the windows. I couldn’t start a fire in the grate. There were toys that couldn’t be played with. I managed to open the fridge but could not eat or drink any of the items inside. I managed to turn some taps on, but there was nothing to do with the water. I turned the gas to an oven on but was not able to light it. I found a samovar but was not able …17 found this helpful
You are in a house in the middle of nowhere and there are a few objects you can throw around but that's about it... Can't reccommend for 8€6 found this helpful
not bad for 'Interactive Demo'4 found this helpful
You wake up from a midday nap. Parents still asleep upstairs. It's summer. You've no obligations. You listen to the same program on vinyl once again as you trifle with all the toys and things on the first floor. Your parents are heavy sleepers, they won't hear a thing. It's a nice sunny day outside, shining through the expansive field surrounding the house. Did you have lunch yet?4 found this helpful

This game's feeling and atmosphere is top notch. BUT: Be aware that this game contains only ONE room/level/house however you want to name it. It's very very short and if you think 8 € is justified for one little house than get this game. Otherwise wait for a deal.1 found this helpful
