Journey to the Centre of the Cell is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Journey to the Centre of the Cell is a software application that shows three microscopic scenes in VR, barely interactive, with a little explanatory text and nothing else. If this was a game and only had three playable scenes it would still be a disaster, but there's no game at all in any of the scenes. This is pointless, isn't a game, and provides little to no educational benefit either. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the pl…

The location is interesting, even if it's the only one. But the implementation of movement on a silly teleportation system, especially without the ability to turn with a joystick, kills the whole point of VR as a 360-degree viewing space. Therefore, unfortunately, the rating is negative, despite the good idea.

По мере прохождения открываются новые уровни и возможности, что постоянно поддерживает интерес. Разработчики действительно постарались сделать обучение увлекательным, а не скучным зазубриванием терминов. Однако, хотелось бы немного больше интерактивности и возможностей для самостоятельного исследования. Иногда чувствуется, что игра слишком линейна. Тем не менее, это незначительный минус, который не портит общего впечатления. Рекомендую всем, кто интересуется биологией или просто ищет необычную и развивающую игру.
