This story isn't bad... But it's not great either. If you like going to a magic school and taking classes/ supernatural stuffs / fighting and perhaps solving "who is behind all of this?"? Then there is a *chance* you might like it. But remember...! Whenever a story has 10 LI (Love Interests) and even more background characters... There is no way they will have depth. I also agree with other commenters that this story jumps way too fast (a lot) and I got confused as to wth was going and where the characters were in the first place. Also... There might be actual lessons... With words... I fell asleep. Now it has it's fun too! I got to punch everything in the face. I may not know what every stat was even good for, but that was worth it. Although it failed. A lot. And even as I honed my super bright intelligence and elemental dragon MC... I still failed in tests and somehow got average results. For the reader it's basically *Harry Potter: College Edition* meets *Supernatural*. The "magical school" plot has been done seemingly endless times at this point, but Brynn Chernosky does it very well with enough differences and uniqueness that it never felt derivative to me. The opening scenes also had just the right amount of intrigue, danger, and world-building to keep me glued to the screen. Your character's introduction to the magical world is much less whimsical than "You're a wizard, Harry!" and more ominous kidnapping with polite niceties. Chernosky gives you the opportunity to lean into either direction—you can be thrilled to be introduced to the mysteries of the magical side of the world and getting your very own acceptance to New World Magi Academy, or you can make it clear to everyone that will listen that it's all been under duress. I really think this is up there for hosted games honestly. It is definitely not perfect and it has far from the best romances, but I think that the magic system is really engaging and so much story is happening. Definitely not perfect writing but I felt very engaged while playing. I recommend for those who are into magic based interactive fiction and those who like stat building.

whoever recc'ed this, it's on sight, the writing was way to fast that one minute im a new student and the next im an adult doing taxes while being handcuuffed to magical broom in the bathroom bc of wtf is happening. the romance and friendship part is so fast we might as well married and had kids after 5 seconds of meeting each other plus it felt like i was being waterboarded with the lack of information that when i did need information i was there being like did i miss anything?? (no bc i played a couple of runs already on this). The twist didn't make sense in the larger part of things as the whole motivation wasnt given in the main part of the story that if u missed it, u missed 30% of the narrative. Can't in good conscious rec this one and hope the author's writing got stronger in the sequels that i will be skipping out on unfortunately

I cant ever remember writing a review for a steam game before this. I have played dozens of these text based games and the keeper series is far and away my favorite. The Romance options are all great and the story is compelling. The world itself is enchanting and I cannot wait for the third book in the trilogy. If you are a fan of these types of games I cannot recommend this series enough. The first book is excellent and is the worst of the three games so far. Truly excellent work.

Great game. While some of the writing is a bit imperfect, it still delivers a very impactful choice driven story with a lot of variations depending on what you do. While the main plot stays the same, even two playthroughs is enough to show you even the tiniest detail the author thought of. Classes, if you want to get involved with the world's politics, everything. Great game, easily worth the price.
