About Last Stop
A video game about secret lives, the ties that bind and how magic can be found in the mundane.
Last Stop is a single-player third-person adventure set in present day London.
Written and developed by Variable State, creators of the award-winning Virginia, Last Stop tells three interconnected tales featuring three playable main characters.
- Donna, a spaced-out high-schooler who feels trapped by her stifling home life and her overprotective big sister. Away from home, Donna seeks teenage thrills with her friends Becky and Vivek, but gets more than she bargained for when the trio become unexpected kidnappers in a game of amateur detective gone wrong.
- John, an overworked middle-aged single dad. Burdened with debt and the pressures of being an only parent, John jealously pines after the free and easy life of his twenty-something bachelor neighbour, Jack. When the pair unwittingly fall foul of a vengeful stranger, a cursed artefact threatens to transform their lives forever.
- Meena, a ruthlessly ambitious professional who struggles to find the same satisfaction with her family that she does in the thrill of her work. As Meena vies with an upstart colleague for a crucial promotion, something ancient stirs in the basement beneath her workplace.
Last Stop is fully voice acted, featuring hours of dialogue and a voice cast of dozens, with performances from some of the brightest talent in the UK today, including rising star Lulu Simpson as Molly Smith.
Last Stop features an original soundtrack by BAFTA award winning composer Lyndon Holland, performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Roleplay as 3 unique characters. Make choices to shape their conversations. Walk in their shoes and discover where their individual stories lead.

There's a lot to enjoy if you're into this "interactive movie" genre. But, it's like they left it open for a sequel and then didn't make that sequel. It ends with many questions left unanswered, many unresolved or hastily-resolved story threads. I enjoyed playing it, yet am left dissatisfied. The cinematography, sound & music, voice acting, interactive moments, etc. were all REALLY polished. The characters' writing was pretty decent, but a few had abrupt personality shifts to fit the story. It generally did a good job of keeping me engaged for the first 1 intro + (6 chapters * 3 characters) = 19 storyline segments, but the entire ending had to be crammed into the 20th segment and half of the premise went completely unexplained.4 found this helpful
The story was alright. I wish we got more info about the supernatural part of it. It felt like a bunch of stuff was thrown at us at the end, with very little explanation, and the last part felt very rushed. The story was humorous and meaningful, especially John and Jack's story, which was my favorite. I enjoyed the three main characters as well. There are no actual narrative-altering decisions until the very end, so if you're looking for a game where your choices matter throughout the story, this is not it. The game felt boring and kind of empty at times, and I would go for a while without playing. There's also way too much walking. I don't hate it, but Steam doesn't do star ratings, so I lean more towards thumbs down than I do thumbs up. If there were star ratings, I'd probably give it 3/5 stars.1 found this helpful
Having played many an interactive story game, this very loosely should be called one. Interactive story, yes. Game? Not entirely. Thumbs up though as I was keen to see how it played out nonetheless and very much enjoyed sitting through it.
I really loved this one. More and more, I'm finding more enjoyment from an 'on-rails' game with elements of interactivity than I am with open world epics, that I rarely, if ever, get to the end of. This gave me a really interesting (and surprising) story that I felt I was still able to influence. The art style was great and the music worthy of note. Kept me engaged throughout to its conclusion. If you like a good story, you could do a lot worse!
controls were a bit janky but it's a very underrated story game and the last chapter was amazing
Nice story
