Love Alone Death

An intriguing game, one that could've been worked on a bit more, though. The gameplay is pretty simple, the usual point-and-click adventure. It does, however, come with multiple interesting choice outcomes and endings to explore. However, when speaking of gameplay mechanics, that's where the game all falls apart. Even with such a simple gameplay premise, it's still throughout the game, consistently janky. Keeping it short and not listing all of it, there are multiple broken mechanics, some that can easily softlock you (it's not like the game's long, and there are multiple save slots, but it's just annoying). Mechanics that should work as progress points but can be outright skipped without consequences whatsoever, so what's even the point? And a lot of choices, or rather different approaches, that have no outcome other than a line of text being different, if even... Let alone whole sentences. Speaking of which, I don't know if it was just me, but some sentences just didn't sit with me and felt wrong when I read them. Loving is a good way to describe it. I really liked Lilith, but every character is very bright and full of personality, enjoyed the story a bunch and definitely will replay it in the future, it was simple but extremely enjoyable to build the bond with characters. Violent elements never felt out of place and the game has a cool aesthetic to it, puzzles are very simple for point and click game though, but it was more of a quick gameplay between the story parts. I liked the art but it's more of a taste thing in this case. Game is quite short despite having different endings, completed it in like an hour, but it didn't feel "too short".

i mean it's alright. i get the overall underlying message the devs were tryna convey about the deep-seated trauma and the internal demons you end up developing due to said issues but like... idk i guess the endings just kindof makes it all fall flat in a way, since it kinnda felt like there wasnt really any follow-up or any development of resolving or coming to terms with said underlying issues. the only part of the game that i felt had substance to the story was during the dream section of the game. everything else is just extra ♥♥♥♥ that doesnt really correlate or tie in with anything about the message of the game ngl. which lowkey since majority of the game was just random ♥♥♥♥ you have to do, makes me think that maybe the dream section, that was about coming to terms with your problems and solving them and whatnot, was actually the extra stuff instead just so that they could just shoehorn in some deeper message. aah whatever overall it dont really matter anyway since the game is free, play it just for the achievements i guess. oh yeah and the art of the game is fine i guess. tho the art done for the horror and gore aspect of the game are not very scary or gruesome at all so no…

This felt like a prologue- but hey I still enjoyed it! The writing was a bit lackluster at times but I assume that's just the translation.. I mean the art and themes were well done! It has a nice atmosphere! I do recommend it!
