Machinefall

I have really enjoyed the premise of this game. It has filled a craving that some other defense/saving humanity type games have fell short on. The game itself is complete and playable with no game breaking issues. The developer is also active and receptive to feedback which is great. Already increased the difficulty for those who like a challenge. I will continue to play and look forward to any future additions to the game.

at the start of the game, it waves the combat out infront of your face, shows you how cool the towers can look and how easily walls can fall. that is because it is the only likeable part of this game. it took a while to warm up to the fact that food and water are a one time, rather than regular cost for the civilians and soldiers, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ music and sound FX which are ai generated are mutable. what i cant look past is how unbalanced the game appears. if i hadn't gone through the entire 'ai learning' sale to find which specific catagories this game fell under, i would think this was coded/made with AI. i only found it under ai music and ai translation, but alot of the 'production' seems inconvenient at best. it comes off like a very basic modern version of dwarf fortress, with a sprawling help menu that leaves you with more questions than answers and requiring somewhat irritating methods of selecting individual buildings you want to create. im also completely ignoring the tutorial/research tree. because it is a glorified tutorial. its not that ive never seen a quest based research tree, this one just comes off as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tutorial. i played one save with the tutorial on and it…

It's currently a simple but satisfyingly enjoyable game

Genuinely such an amazing game. I have been looking for an RTS that has a GIANT map, and this one did it for me. I started in Tokyo for my first run took Japan and tried to go for China. DO NOT do that (unless you know how to waypoint your troops to get weapons.) It did not go well and since I've taken Australia. Great game keep it up!

Clunky but charming implementation of many interesting ideas! I think the game could do with a professional art pass with a more unified theme, cleaned up UI, and more "juice" in the menus and interaction. However, the core mechanics Jan Zizka is working with are very interesting and implemented well enough to make me want to come back to this game over and over again.
