About Man Alive

Man Alive is a platform game with a twist (or two). We are working with the idea that death is not the end. There are no health packs, because we promote death in Man Alive! Actually, you HAVE to kill yourself to progress in our game.

That is why we believe it is something different and new, that we hope to share with you all. This campaign is very important to us, because we know we can create something fun!

We need your support to help us create Man Alive, to keep challenging the game industry and provide a steady flow of new ideas.

Abandoned early access junk-ware poorly ported from an unfinished Android game.

Man Alive would like you to believe that it’s a quirky and humorous die-to-advance indie platformer pushing—what else?—Limbo aesthetics. Just good enough for a few bites of fun, perhaps. Man Alive’s developer might once have also liked you to believe that the game will ever leave Early Access (lol). And while we're at it, there’s probably employees at Steam that would like you to believe their marketplace has pricing and playability standards. Unfortunately, Man Alive is a game in the same way that a bowl of diced onions, carrots and celery placed next to a bottle of olive oil is a meal: it barely flipping plays, and whatever time-tested ingredients its using simply never got near a hot pan. Another forgotten waste of a Valve database row with no record of more than one concurrent player. Pros:

Despite partial basic controller implementation, you should be able to complete it in around 10 minutes and forget about it in 15
Cons:

This isn’t on itch.io or in a homebrew compilation
The storefront trailer video shows 95% of the game
A horrible early access platformer that hasn't been updated since 2015. Stay away. I couldn't even get it working native on Linux but it works fine with Proton (6.3-5) at least.

Man Alive is an abandoned indie mobile app platformer ported from mobile onto Steam by a somewhat dodgy developer. Graphics and gameplay aren't very good, it's buggy, too. The game was abandoned immediately at launch with no further patches provided. That doesn't stop the developer still trying to scam people into buying this broken mobile app on Steam, or selling keys for it in bulk to game bundle distributors as if it was a complete game. No refunds were given, the "developer" took the money and ran. Can't recommend abandoned EA games, mobile apps, or unethical developers acting in bad faith.

ok... just finished the game .. so you call this '13 fun levels' and a halloween mission?? i call it a game that only has two levels which are rather short and i sincerely hope that everyone just buys the game, finishes it, and then gets his money back since it's to be finished easily in well under 2hrs .. i had the game in a bundle, so i cannot get my money back sadly ... wish i had paid full price, then now i would be able to get my money back ... don't read me wrong, the game is quite fun... but it's waaay to short, unfinished and after 3 years still in early access limbo... dude, give it up... pull the game and make it free ..

Having beaten the main game twice (just to make sure I didn't miss anything) and the Halloween Special addon in about 18 minutes total, I had but one question: "What the heck did I just play?" I have to say that the graphics are appealing, and there is a good idea in there somewhere, but Man Alive is quite simply not ready to be played. It feels like something thrown together in a day for a programming contest and is all over the place, with what seems like a bunch of random scenes mashed together. In some levels the goal is to die, in others dying resets the level. When the goal is to find an exit, it is literally just the edge of the screen with no indication that there is anything there. Depending on your resolution you just see the chacter walking across the black of the screen into the next map. Then, there are unaligned backgrounds that look like a painting floating into view, missing level boundaries where it is possible to walk off the screen and come back, etc. There is no way a game that can be beaten in 5 minutes and has this many problems can be worth $5. No way.
