This is a neat small game that is ruined by numerous bugs.
The good

Mech assembly. You have your hull, weapons and additional modules. Sure, it is not deep, but for a small game - more than enough.
Tactical combat. With all the modules you have a pretty fun combat loop: you have a good number of skills from weapons and hulls so the combat doesn’t get stale till you finish the game.
Clean minimalistic artstyle is a good fit for a mech game.

The bad

Bugs. Way too many of them. Some bonuses subtract a stat instead of adding it. HP bars for mechs are shown 3 hexes away from the mech. A few crashes. It is just way too much to not pay attention.
While you have your abilities tied to mech hulls or weapons - your enemies don’t. To me it feels cheap.
Balancing in combat isn’t always there - sometimes you are fighting against 3 one-hit drones, and sometimes you are fighting a legion of heavy mechs.
If you are tolerant of bugs - grab it on sale. While I enjoyed my experience with the game - it has significant problems with said bugs to make a positive review.

MechCorp, developed and published by solo creator k.Song Tan, is a lean yet surprisingly layered strategy experience that blends turn-based mech combat, resource-driven campaign management, and roguelike unpredictability into a single cohesive structure. Rather than overwhelming players with dense lore dumps or cinematic framing, the game simply drops them into a hostile galaxy and lets the narrative emerge organically through moment-to-moment decisions. Each campaign begins with a modest squad of mechs and a limited reserve of supplies, but what happens next—victories, losses, desperate retreats, miraculous recoveries—depends entirely on the player’s judgment. This design philosophy gives MechCorp a constant atmosphere of tension, not through scripted drama, but through the knowledge that every encounter carries real consequences and no safety net. Combat unfolds on small, grid-based maps, and its simplicity is intentional. Units move, fire, reposition, and defend using clear action limits and sensible tactical rules, but fights remain brisk rather than bogged down in excessive animation or calculation. The challenge comes not from deciphering the system, but from reading terrain…

great lil mech game, worth multiple runs

Why I am rating this "Thumbs Down": -Bugs: these should not be a thing for a finished product. Some crew bonuses don't seem to apply. -Short game: the main 'story' is short and there is no free play afterwards; but even if this were a thing... -Limited Content: I played with all mech and builds within 30 hours of play time. -Aesthetic limitations: while there are many colors to apply to "your guys" you only have 3 patterns to apply to them. I can't LARP as Clan Smoke Jaguar if I don't have a leopard camo base. While I'm cheeky I would like to see more camo-patterns. -Campaign only: there's no instant action or custom scenarios where you can make your own battles. What I like about this game: -multiple Dominant Strategies: you can win the game with different builds. -Good base game: you can complete the main quest when you want, you can attack pirates or raid civilians in the meantime. You get these resources and you build up your troop of Mechwarriors. -What's available is fun: despite the misgivings in my above comments, I like customizing my troops and using them to pillage defenseless civies. What I want to see next from the developer: -Expanded content in general: more miss…

By no means a "great" design, this game still manages to deliver enjoyable play and interesting decision-making challenges. It takes a couple sessions to understand how things are supposed to work (the lack of a good player manual explaining the rules is a problem) but once you get past that the game's a fun diversion.
