Medieval Dynasty... I can only describe this game in one phrase: [b][i]I simply love it.[/i][/b] One of the original games to popularize this style of "Dynasty" gameplay, Medieval Dynasty has inspired plenty of copy over the years. Judging by their reviews, though, it's safe to say that none of them have managed to beat the original. After 30 hours of playtime in just two weeks, I think I've spent enough time with it to leave a proper review. [h2]The learning curve can be scary:[/h2] I first discovered this game while it was still on Early Access on my Steam front page. I wasn't planning to buy it immediately because I wanted to see how it would develop first. So I added it to my wishlist and hoped it wouldn't become yet another abandoned survival game. Looking at it now, I couldn't have been more wrong. I first tried the game on the Xbox Game Pass but was met with disappointment when my hardware obviously couldn't handle it at the time. So, fair warning: you'll want a reasonably capable PC with decent hardware if you want to enjoy the game at its best. When I finally bought it, I was immediately hooked. This game is good, finally getting home to a game that doesn't feel annoying and try to push me to things all the time. Like I get to make my own goals. There is a campaign and stuff, but it rewards just playing the game. Give it a try, this game shows that developers can care about their games. I tried it on gamepass years ago, and was to fps minded at the time. This hits the spot now, when I just want to enjoy an immersive game and build something, and throw a spear. And use a bow. And get attacked by random animals. There is some good humor in here as well. And I thought I didn't like survival games...
Love the VIBES!
I am very new to this type of genre, as I prefer to play more action-oriented games, with titles such as Warhammer, Total War, Gears of War, Resident Evil (ah, you name it) being played almost daily or whenever I have the time to play games. But there's just something about this game that holds a very special place in my heart. It's probably the settings, ambience, music, and just the overall slow pacing that makes it so special (or perhaps, I'm just getting older). Honestly, I thought the game was quite boring during the beginning phase, and I got lost since I had no idea on where to start. The game literally throws everything at you the moment you click on New Game, and I personally got lost having to deal with all the in-game mechanics and explanations, but after playing it slower and feeling the rhythm of it all, I actually LOVE this game. Overall, Medieval Dynasty is a (VERY) nice change of pace from the usual games that I played, and I strongly recommend all of you to check it out. This is definitely a 10/10 for me.
