Moustache Mountain is a bite-sized, single screen/single button time attack platformer: no collectibles, no frills. A full run arms you with 3 lives to traverse 15 levels randomly drawn from probably around maybe 50 levels total?, ranging from gimmes to crafty spike fests. You're only up against environmental dangers (darts, spears, blades... the usual), and the only tool in your kit is a versatile, loose wall jump. The whole pleasure of 2D indies like MM is in matching feel, level design, and rhythm, and this one largely gets it right. If you're looking to post a decent time on the leaderboard, you'll need to learn a few simple momentum-building tricks and maybe a handful of "shortcuts" through the busier levels. But this is not really a precision game given its level design and falling physics--and by the way: it's real short. I'm giving this a [i]light[/i] "bundle or all-time low price" recommendation as this developer has some talent and feel, even if you're left wanting a larger game coming out of this. It is so easy to pause the game by accident, and lose all your progress by pressing one button. (playing with a controller) Other than that, this game has similar mechanic to super meat boy, except for dashing mechanics. The game only has 16 levels, with some spares to create a feeling that they are randomly generated.

This is a simple platformer - tackle 15 random levels (the design is set, the order isn’t) of increasing difficulty with 3 lives. It can be beaten in half an hour, so despite its graphics, genuinely fun gameplay, and cheap price, it did not make much of an impact.

If you enjoy speedrunning, you will enjoy and maybe even love this game. If you are not.... prooooobably you should stay away. (or get anyways and start your speedrunning career... fair warning: it will hard ) Also, the connection to steam sometimes just doesn't work and screws the leaderboard... so... yeah that's a big " - " 7.5/10 for speedrunners.... hmmmm maybe 5/10 for other kind of players.
