Not my usual cuppa tea. I like match 3 games, but this one lacks engagement. Despite its sequel, Murder by Moonlight 2 - Crimson Night which has story engagement, nice music and cute match 3 objects, this one lacks something. I don't know. Maybe I just don't like werewolves or simple the way of the game. Even so, if you are looking for match 3 games, this is a game for you. PROS: - Interesting story; - Varied match 3 games; - Simple Hidden Objects; - Easy to learn mechanics. CONS: - The music is a bit annoying for my tastes; - Cannot use more than one aiding weapons; - Lack of player engagement. If you are looking for match 3 games with werewolves, this is a game for you. I must say pass, because I prefer the vampire one. The cute objects and music in those match 3 games are a delight!

"Murder by Moonlight - Call of the Wolf" is a Hidden Object puzzle game, the type you normally see on mobile app stores or even as browser apps. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, mostly published by Artifex Mundi, many of them free on mobile app stores, but this one will cost you money on Steam. There's a werewolf theme to the game, but this is a just a veneer over a tired and overdone set of hidden object minigames and Adobe Flash tier puzzles, wrapped together with a bunch of static screens that you "move" through by tapping your finger on your iPhone screen. This differentiates from most of the HH hidden object mobile app spam by also featuring HH's match-3 mobile app spam, making this a (bad) hybrid of a (bad) match-3 and a (bad) HOG. There's still nothing of value here for dedicated PC Gamers. While these kinds of games are popular amongst casual gamers, it's difficult to argue this is a great value proposition as a PC game, especially considering the price of this compared to the hundreds of free HOGs on the mobile app stores. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no op…

I'm torn on recommending this game, the lengthy grind is exhausting and I would recommend you split this game up into smaller play sessions. I had not expected the entertaining and frequent voice acting throughout the game, this was a real highlight for me. Gameplay was straightforward matching objects with little changes ups along the way. The tool belt of aids to use in the matching scenes was nice but it should have refilled quicker than it did to make clearing the puzzle a little faster since some puzzle designs make matching difficult to fill up the meter. The hidden object scenes are very easy. My biggest issue with the game was how grindy it was, this game took 9 hours to complete. There isn't any skip the matching puzzle options and each level part you are trying to unlock requires several matching puzzles that take 8 to 12 minutes each.

I have played similar games but this crime theme is different. An enjoyable game but not too keen on the country & western music On level 2-2 a tile just would not budge so had to restart the level. Enjoyed the game.

Y'all, I like to play this type of game when i want to just chill and lose the problems of the day and not have to be looking over my shoulder to see who is trying to take me out of the game. Its a Detective, Match 3 with some hidden object side games to change things up a little. The match 3 game i have played when you run out of move it just shuffles the tiles or sets a new grid, this one give you police tools to take out single tiles or a entire line. It's a fun game and i enjoyed it. I got my five dollars worth. WATCH OUT FOR THE SPIDERS!!

A marginal thumbs up for this casual Match 3 / hidden object 'mystery'. The good: The Match 3 gameplay is solid and relatively fun. The time limit was just there to provide a little incentive to hurry, and I rarely ran out of time. The concept of dialog rewards and hidden object mini-games works well with the theme. I got 9 hours out of this, and I think it ended right about when I wanted it to. Time wise, at least. The meh: Story and dialog were super generic. The character art looks outdated and...weird. It's not the worst, just unappealing. Also, I could have used MORE dialog and story. Like how about an interaction reward after each and every round? Not just after every three or so? The bad: Voice acting is like three people and they're all pretty bad. The narrator sounds like one of the South Park creators putting on a parody voice...but the humor is unintentional. The ending is both entirely predictable and a cop out. I had fun with Murder by Moonlight, as I often enjoy the odd Match 3 or solitaire game to play while I'm watching TV or as a coffee break game at work. But I definitely would not pay more than $5 for this. And to be honest, I'd be a little reluctant to try m…
