Short, boring, nonsensical. All you do is click your left mouse button randomly, as there's no indication when you're actually supposed to do so as with most other visual novels. At a few sparse points you do get to pick between two choices, but I don't know if they make any difference as I can't be arsed to play it again to find out. Hard to believe they actually had a price tag on this before, but hey, it's free now, so who cares.

Neon Tide is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book was slapped together with the godawfully bad Visual Novel Maker Visual Novel/E-Book construction kit, so just like no professional writing took place here, no professional game development took place either, it's just a product of filling out templates in the construction kit. There's a really badly conceived "Cyberpunk 2077 is cool so I can be an author if I try copy some cyberpunk stuff" fanfiction that was used to fill out the templates in Visual Novel Maker. And we know it's bad... if they could write professionally, they'd have books on bookshelves in bookstores and wouldn't be paying $100 to get here. At least they're not trying t…

I can't say "Yes" or "No" to this title, but I'm only saying "Yes" just so I can post this review. It could be better, but the music so far matches with the vibe so well. Other than the characters, I'm a little disappointed in the graphics. Much of surrounding environment doesn't seem, well, alive.
