Nightmare Drive

The dev has been fixing stuff about as fast as we're breaking it, which honestly deserves some respect. Bugs get found, reported, and before you know it, there's already a fix rolling out. You can tell there's a lot of passion behind this game, and if the developer keeps supporting it like this, Nightmare Drive has a really bright future. If you're into the game or even just curious about it, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. Support the dev, give feedback, and enjoy the chaos.

We all know it's a "Long drive" type game, so I'll say I was dubious, picked it up and gave it a crack and I'll say it has potential, it's a bit lacking in content at the moment but it's got some good fundamentals that can be worked on, dev seems to be updating regularly so I'll keep my eyes peeled on this, but this far? Good job dev! Pros: - Soundtrack's pretty interesting, specially that menu theme - Got the basics when it comes to lore - Quite nice lighting effects - Fair bit to apoc your ride to - Pretty fun game loop to sink time into - Bowling pinning zombies is satisfying Cons: - Some sound effects are unbalanced (Too loud, looking at you UFO's!) - Zombie physics can be janky (Commonly getting them stuck in my ride) - Some sounds aren't poppy enough (Zombies sound a bit stock and it'd be nice to hear metal thunks of bodies hitting the ride - Basic zombie AI (They all straight path, some hagglers or maybe ones grabbing to your car would be fun) - A little bit barren (But that'll improve in time I'm sure, alongside the car selection) -Notes- - UFO is too loud - More blood on the car would be nice, wanna use that sponge for a reason! - Different paths to take? Has potential, but VERY LIMITED. I feel like most of the reviews are bots or something. I play a lot of Early Access games, so I expect jank and limited content. That's exactly what this game is. Janky and very limited in content. This is all you need to know: It is a clone of Drive Beyond Horizons with fewer 'car' parts to each car, fewer 'extra' parts, and at the time of this review, only about 4 cars. Weirdly, many parts do not fit universally, some parts that are the correct part, don't fit correctly, it appears that sometimes if you put the wrong part on a car, it magically transforms into the correct part. The zombies are a REALLY fun addition, as are the plows and other anti-zombie car additions. there is nothing to do after about an hour of play except keep driving. no need to stop except for food/water because there are no car parts you haven't seen. It IS FUN for a bit and I hope they continue to dev this and add more content and fix the jank. It really feels more like it should have been a mod for DBH instead of its own game.

The zombie gameplay is fun, and the car customization is one of the best features. Finding car parts while exploring or inside abandoned houses and buildings makes the game more rewarding and enjoyable. However, the home screen is currently buggy and needs improvement for a smoother experience. The animations could also be improved to make movement and combat feel smoother and more polished.

Wow Grapes!!! The game is really addicting. As a big fan of survival games and cars, this one hits right up my alley. The graphics are superb and realistic and I find the gameplay really fun. Looking forward and excited to see what the developers will add and improve on the next updates.

At the start of the game, there should be a choice for the player to choose their preferred graphics preset. This would help players with lower-spec PCs so they don't suffer from performance issues right away. The driving is pretty janky and hard to control. It's actually funny sometimes, especially when running over zombies. I also noticed that when I tried to leave the vehicle, there was a slight delay before I could actually get out. Maybe it's just me or my bad internet, though. The UI could be more responsive. I didn't really feel like I was getting hit by zombies because there isn't much SFX or UI feedback to tell me that I'm taking damage. Some kind of hit indicator, screen effect, or sound would make it easier to know when you're getting hurt. The three mechanics should have some kind of penalty if the player ignores them. For example: If the Food bar reaches zero, the player could slowly lose health. If the Water bar reaches zero, the player's stamina could be reduced. If the Pee bar gets too high, the player could move slower and be unable to sprint until they pee. The customization is easy and fun to use.
